Vance is less charismatic than Trump and MAGA (or perhaps Republicans who were leaning that way) has people waking up and pushing back. Approval is going down and courts are even doing some things against his power now.

Despite Vance being smarter, if they can’t pull this off under their own charismatic leader with a major base backing them then I doubt Vance could do much. I think he’d get even more push back from courts and I doubt the military would side with the couch fucker if he tried to actually push martial law or turn the military against the people.

In short, Vance’s agenda would be the same as Trump’s and if it’s not popular now, do we really think it would be successful with a less charismatic person in charge?

I don’t know any schools that let you video record in a school without consent. Dude is wearing a recording device as glasses and did not get consent from anyone in the school. That’s against school code, bruuuuuuuuuuuh.

As someone in the classrooms (student teaching in fifth grade in Illinois), I don’t disagree that they provide this. However, I also see how they benefit the students with workflow and access to a diverse form on texts which is needed for a multitude of diverse learners whether they are multilingual, have a disability of some kind, are special education, or have IEPs or 504s.

The access to parents at home with instant ability to the same videos or resources as well as translation tools can mean more parental help for the kids.

What I see as the problem is that the way we measure students and their cognitive knowledge/capabilities hasn’t changed with how we teach. Everything is to the test and set up without any national standards. I see kids able to make some amazing inferences and see patterns with small prompting and the ability to deep think is there even with tech being a huge part of the classroom.

That’s exactly my thought as well. We will likely be seeing an uptick in autoimmune diseases because of the hyperactive response for everything.

As an American, I don’t even know what most people’s decision to not vote is beyond a multitude of reasons I have read about.

Sounds like you don’t understand the people of America. Yes, the people vote and we have an electorate that is supposed to vote on what people want.

However, a vast majority of Americans do not turn out to vote. Either they can’t because of logistics, they abstain, or some other reason. We still, historically, have under half of the population actually turn out to vote. Voter turnout graph of the United States by share of population.

The thing that is baffling to me about this is why the Guthries? If this is as sophisticated as it seems, then why a well known journalist? There are hundreds or thousands more targets with way more money and/or clout from a social standpoint. This just seems like a weird target.

She’s (the relative) lucky she can do that. Some districts or schools have homework policies. As I am finishing up my master’s for elementary education, if I can get away with NOT assigning homework then that’s what I will do. They are kids and need their mental breaks as well. There’s research that shows homework doesn’t correlate to better learning or growth. It’s just busy work and play is really good for kids’ minds.

If anything, I will encourage them to read and tell me what cool thing(s) they are reading about the next morning!

I think his comment was really just him acknowledging UAPs and referring to them generically as “aliens”. That’s why he’s never “seen” them. He can’t confirm or deny little green men in these weird flying craft so his answer is he believes but he has not actually seen one.
