I wasn’t trying to correct you, I’m just an idiot who managed to spell it two different ways in the same post. It sounds like both spellings are valid, but I still shouldn’t mix-n-match.

I would argue it’s not only engrained in society, or even ingrained in the human psyche, it’s engrained in nature itself. Violence in nature is often rewarded with subordinance, and our evolutionary lineage has certainly continued it.
Overcoming that instinct globally is going to require a huge cultural shift, but we will be much better off if we do.

“Documenting the code base will be your first task for the next month to help show us how well you understand the codebase.”

I was about to say the opposite. They somehow made it uglier.
Wow, way different feel when the gnome’s about to get torn apart.

“How are you doing this Vincent? How have you done any of this?”
“You wanna know how I did it? This is how I did it Anton. I never saved anything for the swim back.”

I’m curious about the cute mason jar. I’ve got plenty in various sizes, including roughly the volume of the pictured jar, but they’re all taller than wide. Not sure what I’d even put in it, though (besides tater tots).

Yeah, that’d be a great template.

I’ve never had a download tagged as SuccessfulCrab that wasn’t malware. I don’t know enough about them to know if that’s their fault or the indexers’.

I haven’t seen the movie, but the book is very detailed about how the death march is tearing apart their bodies and minds. Some basically sleepwalk and get the tiniest fraction of rest. But even those that do are driven insane.
I’m not really a fan of most of King’s work, but The Long Walk is worth a read even if you don’t like his other stuff.

Weird. I heard Tyrion did it, but he did claim he was innocent!

I was thinking of Norm Macdonald’s monologue when he got to host SNL after being fired.
I used to work at a gas station decades ago that charged $20 for the 1 gallon Jerrycans. It was really rough anytime I had to sell one, because the only people who need them are already desperate. Anytime I was working alone I would give them away.
You could say the same about Hannibal Lector, but I wouldn’t eat him. I do eat pork, though.
Make sure you get the original version of Ghost in the Shell. I recently decided to rewatch and could only find my 2008 remaster DVD, where they replaced some scenes with CGI. It was absolute trash, and my DVD didn’t seem to have the unaltered version available.
Gattaca and Children of Men are still my top two. Absolute masterpieces that should be seen by everyone.

Something I realized while reading this is that I can’t think of any quotes from it. Besides “Bazinga”, but that was designed to be intentionally annoying and then was used to mock the show.
I can think of references to basically every other sitcom I’ve seen, and I can vaguely remember some scenes from BBT, but nothing quotable. My spouse liked it, so I’ve seen every episode at least once, but it was honestly pretty forgettable.
My verdict was originally “not bad”. But maybe being forgettable was it’s best quality.
I promised a number of hours under any sane estimate and delivered four days over the estimate. Success.
That was the part that made me laugh.
“You’re free to join the conversation”
“Am I?”
This is the face I make when my boss asks if I feel energized after taking a three day weekend.
