It’s not a universal rule at all. I know people who are very ADHD who if they drink coffee they have a panic attack. I know people who it makes tired, and I know people who it makes productive. Personally it makes me more talkative.

Basically, it’s not a criteria for diagnosis at all. Everyone’s brain chemistry is different. There might be a higher percentage of people with ADHD whom caffeine does not affect compared to the general population, but that does not at all mean that to be ADHD you have to have that same thing.

  • Windows kept shoving their stupid Edge browser down my throat. Tried every way to remove it and it kept popping back up like malware. Kept annoying me with “upgrade to Windows 11 popups.” I’ve used windows 11 on other people’s laptops and was flabbergasted that there were ads on paid software. In addition to that I heard 10 will stop getting security updates next year so I bit the bullet and switched to mint full time. It’s worked well for me so far.

  • Straterra didn’t do shit other than make my libido nonexistent. Ritalin has worked well for me. I know people who felt like they were in hell while on Ritalin. A lot of it is trial and error since all bodies process them differently.

I will say, there are genetic tests you can take to see which medications are tolerated well by your body. I took one and surprise surprise, I had the markers for straterra not being well tolerated. Also if you have other family members who have ADHD and are on medication it’s a good idea to ask them since your genetics will be somewhat similar.

  • Okay so something that’s slowly dying in rural America is the presence of specialty stores and craftspeople. Before dollar general and Walmart killed most of it, there were separate/mom n’ pop bakeries, pharmacies, blacksmiths (we could modernize that concept with a technological repair person to fix broken or malfunctioning parts), and tractor/feed supplies. Some of these still exist in rural America obviously but they are declining. Bring back specialization and apprenticeship.

In the center of your village could be a decently sized community garden, with small greenhouses scattered throughout. It acts sort of like a central park or courtyard. Also, rooftop gardens!

Maybe some sort of outdoor community center?
