What allies?
Hi there!

What allies?

We must continue to build our defences against US aggression.
They’ve already threatened to invade our allies on multiple occasions recently, and that’s on top of the deeply evil things they’re already doing, both to their own people and to others around the world.
We must take them seriously and protect ourselves.
They will come for us once they’re done crushing their own citizens, and once they’re finished securing their control over the global strategic and industrial resources needed for their future peer wars of domination against enemies and former allies.
It’s sad, I know, but it’s the reality we live in now. We mustn’t live in denial just because the future is scary. They will continue to do evil things like this, and eventually come for us.

What I hate most about the Independent these days is that they’re a UK news agency for UK news reporting, but seem to want to heavily report on local USA news now.
Not just big international news worthy stuff, but lots of small local area USA news.
I’ll see some headline that sounds serious, only to open it and find it’s not referring to events in the UK at all, but in the USA, which is entirely irrelevant to me.
Not sure why they pivoted to being a US news company, but I’m sick of it, so they’re on my blacklist now.

So, like, Spain no longer has access to any US trading businesses? No more Microsoft, no more AWS hosted services, no more access to any business trading out of the USA? All US trade with Spain?
Or… is he just lying?

I’m sure Linux is great with headphones too, but is there really a widespread issue with them in Windows?
Obviously it’s not difficult to “recognise” a headset plugged into the 3.5mm jack, so I’m presuming the author means Bluetooth.
In general, I’ve been very impressed with the improved audio system and controls between Win10 & 11, it needed a big upgrade and we got it. Similarly, Bluetooth UI and ease of use has shot up too. The old Bluetooth UI was awful.
I use various Bluetooth audio devices daily, as well as 3.5mm audio stuff, and have various needs for routing and altering audio with virtual audio cables, etc, and it all works flawlessly for me.
I’m just one person though, not really a great sample size!
Anyway, I’m surprised to hear there’s a widespread issue with Bluetooth audio in Windows 11, given how standardised and widely used everything is these days. You’d think that’d be ironed out reasonably quickly, lest hundreds of millions of people struggle :-(

Ok, and?
Seriously though, who cares? You invade a country for no particular reason, and then put time and effort in to announce that a couple of your soldiers died?
…did they think that wouldn’t happen?
At this point if you’re in the US military, you know you’re eventually going to be sent to steal oil, or other resources, or to blow up a weak country to make your President look good in the polls. You’ve known that crystal clearly for decades now. You’re happy to die for that, and that’s ok, that’s your decision.
They’re happy to die in their pointless war, so why make a big deal out of it when they do?
Why not use the time to report on dying heroes instead, like firefighters, paramedics in danger, or even soldiers fighting for a just cause?
Ah well.

Yeah, I have a lot of fun with Meshtastic.
There’s hundreds and hundreds of nodes across my region, I can talk to other cities, which is fun :-D
I love seeing how far I can make a direct connection too, surprising the crazy range on these little guys if they’re up high enough!
Fear not, come this summer we’ll have sent them all to the camps!

I’m the smortest! I know how to do things

Which planet do we owe the money to?

Break fast and move things!

One day when you’re an adult, you’ll look back at the childish patronising insults you threw at millions of women, men and children, none of whom you know or have any right to judge, in order to feel a sense of smug superiority for a few moments on the Internet.

So long as it’s affordable. I’m not paying more than £250 for a mobile phone, even that’s on the high end of what I can justify for a phone.
I’m stuck using Chinese brands if I want a good, affordable phone, but they have so many intentional software issues.
Nothing’s perfect, but if I could get a better phone that doesn’t lock down stuff (it’s my phone after all, I’m in charge of my own life), and if it were at an affordable price point - unlike these crazies that think £1000 is a reasonable price for a phone (!!!), I’d jump on it <3

Haha, funny you should say that, I’ve been linking this to people but taking the tracking portion out of the URL as I always do, I think that’s pretty common amongst us lot :-D
I’d say oopsie, but I dunno, articles like these should probably be free without needing special URL parameters. Not everything of course, but vital public safety announcements like this.

I don’t have the expertise to answer the question, but I’m sad that so many answers here are jokes, or five word answers that aren’t at all helpful :-(
Was really interested in this and hoped there’d be some knowledgeable people out there to educate us on this stuff!

Laws exist outside of that country.

Hasn’t been for years now. I appreciate the extra oomph and definitely the extra RAM, but so many projects need a Pi3 level of oomph and price point.
They don’t make those any more, and the new ones are too expensive, so just can’t do those projects any more.

You’re being downvoted, but honestly, who can really say either way.
During war, we should expect everything officially stated by both sides to be propaganda. Sometimes it’s true, sometimes exaggerated, sometimes a lie, either to deceive the enemy, or others.
I want to believe the positive statistics of course, but I take it all with a grain of salt.
Even a good, moral leader would be stupid to always tell the unvarnished truth during wartime.
The US seems to want us to be extremely focused on one small part of their war - the Strait of Hormuz. It’s all they ever harp on about.
What’s the situation across the rest of the theatre? How close is the US to accomplishing it’s primary war goals?
Why do they suspiciously want us to ignore everything else and focus on this one international shipping transit lane?
