Or: a recession is driving job cuts and AI is being used to distract investors from bad economic conditions.
/u/outwrangle before everything went to shit in 2020, /u/emma_lazarus for a while after that, now I’m all queermunist!

Or: a recession is driving job cuts and AI is being used to distract investors from bad economic conditions.

The funniest part is that it doesn’t work outside of Reddit, there aren’t enough posts for downvotes to even matter for content sorting.
All it does is make the number lower, it doesn’t effect people’s ability to see the post.

They are not acting like there are going to be midterms.

They aren’t winning in Iran. Why is that?

There are cis women with primary amenorrhea and infertility. They do not have periods, they can not get pregnant.
Are they not women?

traders are assuming that Trump will abandon the conflict before the economic toll of a prolonged war reaches extreme levels.
They don’t seem to realize that Iran gets a vote on when this war ends. They assume that Trump can end this whenever he gets bored, but nothing stops Iran from continuing to hit US+ally assets in the region while continuing to restrain Strait traffic.

US capitalists want regime change so they can steal Iran’s oil and resources, which would necessarily end munitions sales from Iran to Russia. They certainly don’t want a war that drags on until the global economy collapses.
I think you’ve got the material interests of US capitalists confused.

So then why is it so hard for you to believe that US capitalist interests also pay them?

After their spotty coverage in Gaza, how can you possibly believe CNN puts out “whatever will get clicks and views”?

It’s not a mindless sort of belief - they want to believe. They’re believing as hard as they can, because the alternative is ruin.
And this will only hurt them more, prices are just going to keep going up. Anyone who waits that extra week is paying more than anyone who already bought what they needed. The people who wait the longest will be hurt the most.

The government of Iran won’t fall before they mine the Strait, and then it’ll be closed without any further input. Then all Iran has to do is survive the occupation while the global economy collapses, eventually starving the occupation of the funds it needs.

They don’t need to take on the full brunt of the US, they just need to keep the Strait closed to US-friendly traffic until the US economy collapses.

There’s a propaganda effort by white supremacist society to paint all reparations as “evil revenge against white people :<” instead of what it actually is: correcting the injustices of slavery by making whole the descendants of slaves who have been robbed of their heritage and generational wealth.

I’m really interested in what you think reparations even are - do you think they’re just going to shake down all white people for money? How are they going to punish you? Why would they punish you?

I directly quoted a study from Duke University, how is that “even less substance” that your anecdote?

Cool anecdote. Every time we actually see real data, though, the numbers don’t reflect much in the way of productivity gains or increased efficiency or better output. People say that LLMs are useful because it feels useful, but we aren’t seeing actual usefulness. The most recent study out of Duke University observes “a productivity paradox, in which perceived productivity gains are larger than measured productivity gains, likely reflecting a delay in revenue realizations.”
A delay. Sure.

But benefiting from it is okay?

Robots aren’t like software, it’s immediately obvious when they don’t work the way they’re advertised whereas chatbots can trick people into thinking they’re way more useful than they actually are.

You sound like your family owned slaves.
The dream is deskilling, not necessarily making workers faster or more efficient. Instead of relying on highly skilled employees who have tons of leverage because of their experience and education, they’d be able to just put anyone on the keyboard to review and troubleshoot the chatbot’s outputs. They essentially want coding to require as much skill as any other assembly line work.
