It wouldn’t be anything new, US had been doing it since India’s independence. Even now it is continuing it’s bon homie with Pakistan because India didn’t stroke Trump’s ego.

Having said that though, I disagree with the direction the government is taking. India nonetheless does have very consequential strategic millitary relationship with both Russia and Israel. Developed during cold war and continuing to this day.
