You may compare both as, is possible to share the same profile between the 2 apps. Actually I rely on Thunderbird, as I use it since the beginning, and it has the functions I need. Perhaps I will give a try on the Betterbird as well.

The problem is that OTT services are going to the adv model too. They expect that we pay a minimum subscription cost and watch advertising…this is crazy
I see it’s normal for me. If an account is inactive, the user perhaps has created another account or not using Google services anymore its money saving if we consider all personal data, ie 15 Gb per user, which are stored and maintained without reason.
I’m using Gmail but I have also some other accounts from internet providers and a electronic certified mail which can be used for official communication with institutions or companies in Italy. I have also a proton like service with another address… Everything controlled with FairMail which I recommend as excellent mail client. Basically there’s no need to use one or the other but you may also use both depending of the type of message, I guess
I agree, and of course the complain is for the Reddit API, not for Relay, which is a great app, and I if they will provide a Lemmy version of Relay I may use it too. What is non-sense in the Reddit API, is that Reddit should value users comments, the platform has value because of users interactions, posts, etc. so it totally a non-sense that user, should pay to participate on Reddit. I may just understand a free donation model, or even the personalized ads based on your interests.
I’m another user escaping from Reddit and I hope more users will come in Lemmy too. I understand that patching apps may allow to use Reddit for more, but it’s just to extend life of dead man and mostly wasting time.
I was just considering an HP printer as next. Sure it will be another brand who respect customer choice.
