Yeah I think it’s really counterproductive, same thing with the climate crisis, we don’t need to save the planet but our own asses!

In one sense, it is quite good that in this particular case we have made zero progress:-).
My cynicism agrees that unfortunately the genie is out of the bottle and this has only one direction of progression.
