Rather than helping, some witnesses recorded her on video trying in vain to escape the ravine and stream, which they later posted to social media.

Or it could be as simple as not being able to climb down the ravine and help, if you don’t have rescue equipment.
Not everyone is trained to save someone trapped in a fast-moving stream. If they were to try and rescue her then they would like drown with her.
You guys should invent something like a 3 digit number, so OTHER people, preferably professionals, could help in such situations.
