SHE needed one. That’s the only reason. The answer was No for everyone else, but Yes for her. Nobody can kill babies but her.

She’s in the elite ruling class, so she gets to do whatever the fuck she wants with impunity while projecting false accusations onto anyone who fits in the ‘other’ category while her dumbass base of uneducated gerrymandered trolls eats it up.

In all seriousness: it was an ectopic pregnancy, 5 weeks along. Technically legal to perform under Florida law, so in theory it shouldn’t have been a problem to have it done even under current law.

To be clear, none of this is meant to be an enforcement of that law, any other laws about abortion on the books, or the anti-abortion movement in general. I can absolutely understand providers being skittish about anything even remotely borderline with these laws in place, just trying to get the basic facts into the comments because good arguments are worthless if it’s about incorrect facts

And that is the whole issue here in a nutshell. Doctors and nurses are putting their careers and freedom on the line just brushing up against these draconian laws. If I were in their shoes I too would be very skittish.

I’m neither a doctor nor a woman, but can they really draw a line saying this day is in the sixth week and tomorrow is in the seventh? A line that would hold up in court if it had to?

And is there any medical proof that can stand up to brainworm addled pseudoscience in court ? Would you bet your career and your freedom on that?

As I understand it, they are, in away. Many are moving to less draconian states where they can still practice evidence based medicine, or even to other countries.

If it’s a matter of days you could probably just lie about the timing of your last period. Those weeks are calculated from the date of your last period, not from the date of conception, so as long as you’re the only one who knows your cycle you could probably lie a little bit.

Which also makes a 5 week deadline more insane than most people realize. Given a steady 4 week cycle, you have 1 week to realize your period is late, schedule and perform an abortion. A lot of people do not have a steady cycle, and those may very well not notice until it’s too late, even if they track their cycle.
