“Global antisemitism on the rise”. Is that because Israel turned genocidal against the Palestinians?

If I was a non Israeli Jew, I would be PISSED at Israel for that exact reason.

I won’t say the same of Israelis, because looking at the percentages who are pro leave no Palestinians alive, they seem too much like a blood lusted cult to care about the opinions of.

And yes I know the Palestinians feel the same way, but the party with the bigger stick matters and always shoulders the burden of wielding that stick responsibly, and Israel has no interest in that.

As a non-Israeli Jew I will confirm, I am very very very fucking pissed not just because they have made the world less safe for me but because this poison of national narcissism has used our trauma as a tool of evil. I can’t participate or be near my own culture anymore which was once a deep comfort for me who’s last memories of many of my late loved ones being our shared religious ceremonies. The name of Israel on my lips in prayer now sours the kiddush wine.

More specifically it’s because Israel and its allies are running a successful global campaign of conflating opposition to its genocide with antisemitism, which, in turn, normalises antisemitism, which, obviously, harms Jewish people everywhere.

I still agree with the “Jews against Zionism” crowd who take great offense to the idea that anti-genocide is the same as antisemitism. Because that seems to insinuate that genocide is linked to Judaism, which in itself is a pretty antisemitic idea.
