  • I mean, I’d agree with you, but the humans that actually aren’t a threat to the planet, that lived in homeostasis with the Earth, barely exist anymore, the humans with flags saw to that.

For the record yes, the developed world’s quality of life should be much, much, much, lower, and the very concept of economic growth/metastasis should be a widely accepted slur at this point, as it’s killing us.

Part of not being a threat to Earth is also not building and maintaining, let alone growing a massive military industrial complex, which means being destroyed by humans that want your shit and don’t care about the future doing it, so it’s a paradox.

  • The planet does.

Fewer humans is always a win for the planet long term, the only entity we are basically united as a species in generational war against. The only entity we by actions hate more than ourselves and each other. We’re the worst biological catastrophe to evolve since the trees of the Carboniferous period that captured too much carbon before the bacteria that could decompose them had evolved, but unlike those trees that lacked agency, we do the vodoo that we do by choice.

I dislike my species a little more each day, based on our actions of said day. It’s quite cathartic in the face of such madness to remember that our mother will win that war she didn’t instigate against her ungrateful little brat mistake of evolution, and she will recover from that mistake in no time to the Earth, just a couple million years in its 3.8 billion year history of almost entirely homeostatic life. It will be as if all the world’s religions and cultures of manipulative avarice never existed at all.

Thats a happy ending. The world will have peace once more. Anyway, how bout this October heat?

  • Incremental change would have been fine in the 1970s when the world should have instituted it, including incrementally reducing industry to absolute necessities like medical products, and individual developed world quality of life, to find homesotasis with our only habitat.

Now it’s smash the factories today, and accept the hundreds of millions dead breaking those poisonous supply chains, including possibly ourselves, for humanity to have any non-nightmarish future on a planet we terraformed to be hostile towards Human life for the next couple million yers.

But having absolutely failed to institute incremental change half a century ago despite warning, and absolutely failing to take drastic action now that we are just beginning to feel our irreversible fine work, our species clearly and resolutely chooses no future/nightmare susbsistance future, or at the very least there wouldn’t be a pop figure/pointless plastic crap factory left standing in the world. 🔥🤷‍♂️🔥

What I find the most ridiculous is what we’re doing: resolutely choosing death by actions, while still strangely preaching hope for a future. WuT a weird fucking species we were.

    Pew pew Murica Pew Pew.

This is who we are, and the world should judge us accordingly for our unrepentant murderous barbarism thinly masked as “freedumb.”

Don’t worry my fellow Americans, our only practiced cultural value, greed, won’t be injured by the latest mass shooting, it makes private gun manufacturer stocks go up, which is of course the meaning of existence.

    🇺🇸💹

  • I hear you, and that’s a valid point, but I see that more as a function of our insatiable need for the primary driver of our destruction: growth/metastasis.

Growth is precisely what is destroying us. We need to find homeostasis with this world. We need to slow down, stop expanding supply chains, and work on making what powers these 100% clean first and foremost. Because right now, most electrics are functionally dirty too, their pollution just happens higher up the chain.

We won’t do that of course, because the reality is most people in the developed world need to accept that wasteful things like fast food, ridiculous amounts of meat, and plastic that serves no necessary purpose, everything from pop figures to disposable water bottles available to people with reusable vessels out of convenience, need to be made illegal yesterday if we want our species to have a decent future.

But our creature comforts are more important to us, and we will punish any politicians that try to call for genuine sacrifice. 🔥🤷🔥

  • It’s a Tesla problem in that it is a bumrushing tech that hasn’t matured for what it’s being used for because profit motive.

And no, if the tech isn’t mature to be both useful AND safe in the event of failure operating in the world, it belongs in the lab, not up for sale.

We shouldn’t be mass producing any vehicles that become bombs/environmental disasters that standard fire and rescue can’t appropriately address with reasonable tools upon crashing, because they inevitably will.

Its a market capitalism problem. Fire, ready, aim because rush the pos to sale. Musk is certainly a standard bearer as a prominent “get government and society’s wellbeing out of the way of my quarterly profit expectations” asshole sociopath capitalist.
