A majority of them have never even been to California yet they seem to talk about it/bash it non-stop.

It’s a stereotype. Why do many people instantly think of Texas when talking about conservative states?
I think of a fertilizer factory built across the street from schools that blows up. Or people freezing to death when their power goes out. Or getting a bill for $5,000 because they didn’t freeze to death.
