ETA: I don’t think Apple is some benevolent entity. I just think they make good hardware and software. I think they’re more privacy focused than Google. I think I can still expect software of there’s to function in a few years.

Yeah the walled garden sucks for user freedom. Yeah it all costs more than it should. Yeah Tim Apple is a bootlicker.

Google is barely better on these points, and seems to be trying to lock it all down while feeding the AI slop machine as much as possible.

I don’t have time to deal with GrapheneOs let alone some wack Linux homebrew phone.

And let’s not even get started on Microsoft.

So until somebody figures out how to resurrect WebOS or something else worth a damn on mobile, I guess I’ll stick with iPhone and macOS.
