The abduction of a 13-year-old boy by armed agents of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) provoked angry protests October 14 in the city of Everett, Massachusetts. More than 80 residents and city councillors gathered outside Everett City Hall to demand the return of Arthur Berto, who was taken by ICE and transferred to a juvenile immigration facility in Virginia.

As a resident, I think I’m gonna call the state AG’s office later today and ask why they’re not fucking doing anything about a minor that was abducted from my state.

Former ICE members will never work for my while you’re at it, ask the Virginia AG what they’re doing about the minors being trafficked TO their state.

Well, as a resident of the state, I am perfectly within my rights to ask the highest law enforcement official in my state “what the fuck are you doing about goddamn CHILDREN being abducted and shipped out of state”?

Well, you have the right to ask and they have the right to not take your call. If I were to guess, they assisted the process and would not care what you thought. They may even grab you for shits and giggles.

        Oh it’s you again.

Please look at this user’s posting history, they troll pretty much every political post in the Lemmyverse with their “both sides parties bad and I’m the toughest keyboard warrior of them all” bs.

I agree with them. Both sides are complicit in the fall into fascism. Republicans turn the dial right while Democrats prevent it from being turned left. Both sides are against the American populace and only cater to the 1% and CEO class

I don’t think they know Massachusetts.

I, a cis white male, was at the dollar store and there was a black woman behind me buying a bunch of SpongeBob candy. She’s doing a trunk or treat tonight at her work, she works at a center for autistic kids. And the cashier, a trans man from Virginia, shared his stories of trunk-or-treats and cakewalks. And she told me a story about one of her kids at the center who loves SpongeBob and got her to do the theme. And I shared my story of how my wife and I dressed as Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy for Halloween a few years ago.

I never heard of a cakewalk before, but that’s beside the point.

The thing is, I don’t think you’d have a conversation with that particular arrangement of people be so friendly and wholesome in Virginia, at a dollar store of all places.

Odd interpretation, since I’m on a single side—and that’s against fascism.

Edit: since you stroked out Sides and replaced it with parties, yes both parties are bad. Of course, the Republicans are significantly worse… But the Democrats aren’t exactly doing much these days.

Looking at your post history I can see that you are not from the United States, so I’m just going to ignore your opinion on US politics

So, when the right wing was freaking out over dumb and made-up shit like Pizzagate and Qanon, and telling everyone to sAvEtHeChIldReN, they were projecting?

Why, you could knock me over with a feather…

One of the cornerstones of due process is whisking you off to a different state, far away from friends, family, legal aid, and other human rights.

That’s how it’s done in autocracy.

In 50 years time school kids will be reading the diary of a tragic Mexican kid who was hiding out in a kind neighbour’s attic in Ohio.

Wow, so all it takes to get a classmate kidnapped is to report them saying something threatening and the school will do nothing to stop them before any investigation can take place.
