For me, it’s small business retail. Point-of-Sale systems, physical inventory management, the existing options are not built for smaller operations or are not good.

    Yeah, I started on the architecture industry and it’s wild how much every company pays Autodesk in licensing fees, every year, for extremely little improvement to Revit (their architecture software). Really felt like the industry would benefit from open source CAD software that was collectively developed, but it’s not quick or easy to build CAD software that works flawlessly at scale and no single form has ever had enough up front capital to find the development of something that could compete.

      autodesk are the most user hostile software company in the world. adobe are a close second.
