Laws stipulate the parameters of a civil contract between the population and the government. If that contract is repeatedly broken and manipulated, there is very little reason for the population to adhere to the stipulations of said contract.

Lawlessness happens when a significant enough percentage of the population feels that the laws are worthless. This country’s “leaders” (LOL), need to be very careful that they do not push things beyond a tipping point. This is a population with access to A LOT of very deadly things.
