Behind everything they do is the belief that some people are more valuable than others, and the less valuable people don’t deserve to live. A rich businessman is inherently more valuable than a poor child, so he must be protected and respected, even when he does terrible things. It’s the same idea behind ICE, the prosperity gospel, DOGE, healthcare and education cuts, Elon Musk’s many children, and Nazi eugenics.
