Good for her and she’s a smart kid, but this is not how cancer treatments are developed. She will end up an MD in a clinic worried about generating clinic income the rest of her life. She will not go into cancer research because Trump ended that in 2025 when he gutted the NIH.
Right now, these science competitions and scholarships are building bridges to nowhere. These bright kids will just end up on Wall Street stealing money.
There’s five more years before she gets a bachelor’s degree (grad research school requirements), and by then it’s quite likely funding’ll be restored.
