Why did you choose your Fediverse Instance, does it have a bigger meaning than it was a bigger instance or was it for a certain reason? Did you have to be on your instance you chose?

I saw a post recommending lemmy.zip for beginners, and, while it doesn’t cater to my interests at all, it is a casual, well run, and nicely designed. I didn’t understand what an instance was, but now I like the design of blorp.lemmy.zip
