What made you choose your Fediverse Instance?
Why did you choose your Fediverse Instance, does it have a bigger meaning than it was a bigger instance or was it for a certain reason? Did you have to be on your instance you chose?

lemmy.zip has so far been chill. Lemmy world is in practice run by a small group of overbearing mods that remove posts they personally don’t like as opposed to just letting the community decide. They also defederate and block aggressively. I don’t like my instance to censor things I want access to.
So what makes lemmy.zip better than running your own instance? I know there’s plenty of benefits for people joining things like Lemmy World if you want a very restricted environment but what does lemmy.zip have over running your own instance?
I don’t want to run my own instance. That requires time and money.
