I’ve read a lot of characterizations that appear to be what all humans do, but is applied to the someone on the spectrum. Maybe I have ADHD or something similar? Maybe some of the characterizations are universal? We are all bent but each of us at a slightly different angle. Very unique, exactly in the same way as everyone else.
Show me a gifted program kid that isn’t diagnosed autistic or ADHD and I’ll show you an autistic or ADHD kid that just so happens likes to read and learn.
Not to imply that competence is neurodivergence but the gifted program guidelines aren’t just “is smart,” they just oh so coincidentally map very closely on to the traits of a diagnosable kid who might slip under the radar because they’re not constantly being disruptive.

When i learned a large majority of humans can’t picuture a thing in their heads I was in disbelief. How!!! Or those that have no internal monologue…
A large majority? I thought it was a small minority that had that
Sorry, I should have said a larger percent than I thought. I don’t think its minimal but its not huge either.
AuADHD is not an uncommon diagnosis. Were you considered a gifted student? It tends to slip under the radar in very intelligent kids.
