THE UNITED STATES is waging a religious war. This is, at least, how dozens of fanatical U.S. military commanders understand President Donald Trump’s illegal assault on Iran: a messianic battle to bring about Jesus Christ’s return.

“President Trump has been anointed by Jesus to light the signal fire in Iran to cause Armageddon and mark his return to Earth,” one military commander told his combat unit, which could be deployed to fight in Iran “at any moment,” according to a complaint reportedly filed by one of the unit’s officers to a military watchdog group.

The Military Religious Freedom Foundation says it has been “inundated” with more than 200 calls across dozens of military installations, including 110 complaints filed between Saturday morning and Monday evening, from service members reporting their commanders have invoked similar extremist rhetoric of Christian Zionist messianism when justifying the unprovoked war on Iran.

This is the signs of the start of a civil war right here. Someone, will push back one day and kill a leader.

I talked to buddha about it, and he said Hegseths god thinks his followers are a bunch of clowns badly in need of a good flooding. Maybe two, a double tap flooding this time.

Not to get too personal. But the way I was brought up being forced to believe all this shit, brainwashed to the point that I was terrified my lack of faith had already damned me for eternity. I fucking tried to believe and be a good little Christian.

Even though it seemed like a ridiculous lie, I hated church, was bullied by most of my peers, and it alienated me from so many social activities and opportunities. Fortunately the trauma I got through the church was only mental but even still I consider it to have stolen the life I could have had away from me.

And now even though I walked away and have slowly been deconstructing all the things it did to me for almost 25 years, it’s still destroying the only life I get because they are all too fucking scared to accept that theres will end. Fuck Christianity, it’s the plague of plagues and has been one of the central spokes on the wheel of war, suffering, and death called western civilization since it first started rolling across the world leaving a raped planet and broken people in its wake.

As someone who grew up as a fundamentalist Southern Baptist… it’s fundamental/evangelical Christianity that’s so bad.

My dad was a preacher’s kid, son of a Methodist minister. He’s still somewhat conservative in some ways, but he’s fine with LGBTQ+, and his philosophy is basically that while he believes in God, he can’t make that choice for anyone else, so he doesn’t really worry about it for anyone else, i.e. doesn’t evangelize, etc.

If all Christians were like my dad, I’d probably be okay still being a Christian instead of the atheist I am.

Good on you for your journey, and I hope you continue to find peace <3

I’ve said it before numerous times, and it looks like it’s panning out exactly as I was worried it would: Nationalist Christians are going to be the fucking death of us.

But, like, they do all believe in the same god. They’re just arguing over which prophets’ teachings were correct.

Came here to say this. The radicalized Nat C’s and the radical Islamists believe on far, far more than either would probably care to admit. Maybe a few matters of diet, what day to worship, and other things on the margins.

But both believe in the same god called Allah/Yahweh/Jehovah, and both have retconned stuff onto the Old Testament.

It’s actually not that dissimilar to the way leftists fight amongst themselves. I reckon hate is stronger when theres proximity even if its not physical.
