A few weeks later, Valve posts a new blog saying “we hope to ship in 2026” which absolutely suggests that NOT shipping in 2026 is also a possibility. That’s the quote everyone reported on, which was later revised to say “we will be shipping all three products this year.” This is all a ton of noise and speculation based on a single line that ended up being a misphrasing but it wasn’t wrong based on the information at the time.

It was. There was, at no time, any suggestion by Valve that the release was being delayed further, and especially not at the time the article was published.
