In the next 3 months I am moving to the UK and have my two passports and I get to keep my job after the move as I work remote. Also not moving to London looking for homes in the north to be close to family.

Canada is the same way as the US in that regard. It’s not unreasonable to drive 150km to go to a store. Sure you stick around for a few hours or the whole day, but it is easily a short day trip.
