I haven’t known what movies to watch lately. Does everyone have their own treasure movies that they’ve seen many times? 😀
Harold & Kumar Go To White Castle
Galaxy Quest
Far too many to name, so here’s the first 10 that come to mind:
- Ghostbusters
- Star Wars
- Goodfellas
- Aliens
- Clue
- Back to the Future
- Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
- Akira
- His Girl Friday
- Escape to Victory
Dumb and Dumber
I can’t believe I didn’t see anyone else post it. Mostly I’ve rewatched it because it was replayed on cable so much but I certainly love it.
The Fifth Element comes to my mind immediately. It was my happy place.
Also, The Lord of the Rings, It’s what I watch when I felt lost.
The Crow, it has a great atmosphere. Not the greatest plot, but it feels like home. I watch it when I feel nostalgia.
Also, Nostalgia, another film I rewatch when I feel that way.
Most of the big names in scifi/fantasy/action/comedy, so here’s the less common personal favs:
Lake Placid, Hellraiser III, Beastmaster 1 & 2, Heavy Metal, Heavy Metal 2000, Ralph Bakshi’s Wizards, SLC Punk, Disney’s Robin Hood, Dead Alive, Night of the Lepus, MST3K the Movie, Aquateen Hunger Force Movie Film for Theaters, The Ewok Adventures
I’ve watched a lot of movies more than 3 times.
12 monkeys is the movie I’ve seen most, though, coming in at multiple dozens of watches over the years. It’s easily my favorite. It kicked off a new way of thinking for me when I was an impressionable young teen, and has largely held up in terms of watchability.
Particularly if you’re old enough to remember the 80’s, “Hot Tub Time Machine” is the greatest comedy of the past 30 years.
I watch Groundhog Day at least twice a year.
Cloud Atlas.
So many. i will just list one that i bet most people have not heard of: the Vourdalak it’s in french. it is one of the best horror movies i have seen in a while. maybe the best vampire movie since let the right one in. in canada, it is 99c to rent it on the apple store right now
Most definitely Big Fish. Every time I swear I won’t cry; every time I end up sobbing. With snot.
It just hits too close to home. I even had to trigger-warn my 55-year-old dad, to whose home it hits even closer.Lost Highway VHS got pretty worn out back in the day
District b13, the transporter, fast and the furious 1, 2, and Tokyo drift, nation Lampoon’s Christmas vacation, the big Lebowski, 28 days later, resident evil, probably others.
