You can’t make a Lego drone. It’s not rigid enough.

Any 5”+ drone can take out a helicopter if it hits the right place. They can match altitude easily. Could technically take out a plane too if it hits the right place. That’s why it’s illegal to fly them higher than a specific altitude without a license and clearance.

Hey, the Iranians recently used a (~$2500?) Shahed to take out a $700.000.000 AWACS. Rheinmetall will not earn any money with homemade drones and CEOs do what CEOs do: fart out an opinion and expect the mainstream media to publish it without criticism.

Yeah the problem isn’t the drone, you have to detect and track the helo and have pilots ready to launch in the very limited time that helo is close enough to them. It doesn’t happen very often, they fly close to the ground and rarely come closer than 6-8km to the frontline, plus you gotta account for the time it takes to get an FPV itself there, plus have enough skill to hit it.

That new airbus thingamajig with longer range missiles would be pretty sweet for this job though

Yeah would have to get really lucky or know where to be cuz the flight times on the drones are only a few minutes, especially if you’re going full throttle at high altitudes.
