Yep. They’re starting already. This will not end well and Matt Gaetz should be impeached from office. A sitting member of government should not be calling for violence against said government. They’re getting more bold and dangerous with their statements. By the time Trump loses the next election they’ll be inciting them to war.

This is what I don’t get. What’s the end game here? Why are people so hell bent on Trump winning? Do these politicians not see the ship sinking? What possible motivation could be keeping these people loyal to him? I’m not talking about the regular constituents but the other republican officials in office? What the hell do they stand to gain here?

Because they have made a deal with the devil and throwing in the towel means payment comes due. Thanks to the southern strategy Republicans hitched their proverbial wagon to the Christian extremists (who make up the bulk of the racists the southern strategy is predicated on). Decades of propaganda by the likes of Fox “News”, Rush Limbaugh, Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, and Glenn Beck has left their party deeply mired with conspiracy theorists and people with only a tenuous grasp of reality, and an equal number of grifters and con artists preying on those same vulnerable populations. These people are the backbone of Trumps support and they have for various reasons completely embraced him in some cases even as a literal messiah. The Republican party is already struggling to attract enough voters to continue to win elections without resorting to voter fraud, they literally can not afford to give up a single voter, and turning against Trump at this point would shatter their party.

Trump is an existential threat to the Republican party, but one that perversely they can’t publicly attack without inciting the very thing that would destroy them. Like Frakenstein they’ve created a monster, and now it has turned on them. They’re frantically trying to keep its ire focused anywhere but on themselves and just hoping it does more damage to their opponents than it does to them before they can think up some way to contain or kill it.

They want a race war. They want concentration camps and mass killings of anyone they deem a liberal. Reinstate slavery and to hurt a lot of people. That’s their in game. It’s a playbook written on writing a tidal wave of hate and emotions.

Because the only other option, losing, means that they’re losers and they can’t accept that. It’s not any more complicated than that.

It’s mass delusion. They’re operating primarily on lies and fantasy instead of any reality.

In other words, trying to apply logical reasoning to their perspective is not going to work.

What are the genestealers? I’ve heard of them, but I don’t know what they do or who they are working for. I assume they are trying to get their hands on space marine geneseed but that’s about it.

Genestealers are a type of Tyranid, that as their name implies, attempts to use their enemy’s genetics against them. While they technically come in different types, they fulfill two roles: Pre-invasion Infiltration, and later on as shock troops and cannon fodder. They aren’t specifically after Space Marine genetics though I’m sure they wouldn’t upset if they did get themselves viable samples to integrate into the Tyranid biomass.

Pre-invasion, the infiltrate a populated area, with a combination of chemical agents and what can be surmounted as psionic abilities to obfuscate their clearly alien origin and hide from public view. They target weak minded individuals for brain washing, infecting them with a kind of virus that ensures their offspring are hybrid genestealers, growing the cult and gathering more followers to effectively worship the fullblooded genestealers who direct them in sabotaging the planet’s defenses and preparing for the invasion. After a few generations, the cult starts producing more full blooded gene stealers, who spread out and restart the process until the invasion begins, with their followers being totally brainwashed and traitors to their origin,

So in short, you have a large group of people who were already fairly weak willed and probably uneducated, rallying around an alien creature who has brainwashed them into believing the actual loyalists and educated are the ones bowing to outsiders, actively trying to tear down their own government and make an alien invasion easier. Nothing about this is familiar at all. Nope.

If the majority of people used force to get what they wanted, it would not be any of the shit that the GOP wanted because they are a minority. The only thing protecting them is that society has accepted to change things through voting instead of violence. Fuck with that at your own peril, dumbass.

It’s a little scary that this environment (social media) leads so many to believe that, but it’s just not reality. At best conservative ideology is at parity with liberal ideology in the US. At worst, it’s actually a slight majority and has been on the rise since 2020. I’d rather we avoid Civil War 2.0 at the risk of actually losing this time.

You’re forgetting demographics. The elderly is primarily republican, whereas the 40 and under crowd leans heavily democratic.

Most people won’t fight unless the battle is outside their door anyway, and the people who want war would probably need to cross state lines to accomplish anything, in which case they would be going up against the national guard and not just a bunch of hippies in hatchbacks.

Whoever starts the war, should it be started, will lose it, 100%. It won’t even be a contest.

This has been the line for decades, yet here we are with a large conservative population

Either the age split is wrong, or people become more conservative as they age, repopulating the older demo still voting conservative

The age split is just wrong. The left vastly underestimates those motherfuckers to make themselves feel better, and they do it at their own peril.
