Growing up on a small town in Iowa, I would leave my car unlocked and windows down during the day. I lived rural and we never locked our door. Now there’s been more development near my mother’s house and she locks the door at night and when she’s not home. Someone down the street about a mile away had someone break into their house. Router QoS. Set the router to prioritize your traffic based on IP. What are they doing that’s consuming the bandwidth? The only times it’s been an issue in our house has been when I’ve switched media with no speed restrictions. Past large and fast downloads, if you have high speed internet, the pipe shouldn’t be congested. Otherwise, be confrontational then escalate if behaviors don’t change.

Still, the solution isn’t an embargo that hurts the citizens. Humanitarian efforts would be more effective for sure. This is not in defense of the Cuban go government, but there’s no way that laying siege on an island is better for the citizens there.

For the same reason that countries exist. Everyone should have the right for representation. The US is a big place. It needs to be broken into individual locations so that citizens are better locally represented. Whether or not the seemingly arbitrary lines make sense is a different debate, but have some level of boundaries should exist due to the size of this country.

I did a clear bottom kayak tour in St Kitts some years ago. There was a part that we paddled from the Caribbean through part of the Atlantic. AI is the most rushed to market product I think I’ve ever seen in my life. It makes Cyberpunk’s release like like a polished gem in comparison. Yes, things evolve over their life cycle for better or worse, but none of this other things have been so ingrained in everything, cost even a fraction of LLMs, both monetarily and environmentally, it sucked as hard.
