The DNC is not completely regulated by billionaires. But the wealthy and Powerful have always had an outsized voice throughout human history. It shouldn’t be that way but it is. The way to change it is not to screen that they should pay attention to someone like yourself who has no wealth power or control. But to come for them and win. They can close their primaries if they want it will only hurt them. Because we don’t have to run it then we just have to work together to actually get s*** done.

Easy. Actively, vigorously, constantly primary Democrats with solid, left leaning candidates. But show solidarity in the general. At first they accidentally lose a few seats. But it’s okay because those that won still caucus and work with them. Eventually the “others” start to become sizeable. And they’ll think to themselves perhaps we should work with them more to get things done. Eventually they become us. It’s realistic, and 1000% more effective than protest votes they’ll continue to ignore.

Don’t be absurd. Even hyperbolically that’s a stretch. And it’s nothing to do with inaction and everything to do with appeasement. It was wrong when Chamberlain did it and it’s wrong for Democrats to have done it and still do it. They are far better than Republicans while still being pretty bad in general but they have made real palpable positive changes in my lifetime. Slower than I’d like and not as far as I would like. But let’s be fair at least acknowledge it.

It’s ideology versus reality. Here on Lemmy I’m sure you’ve seen plenty alienating potential allies over ideological purity. The problem with ideologies is that they are ideal but not real. Clinging to them dogmatically might give you a sense of superiority and insulation from blame in your own mind. But to everyone else you are still a big part of the problem. What is the value of an ideology if it cannot accomplish anything good? What good is ideological purity? Is useless. And yet many people still use it as a substitute for a personality.

We can’t drop them till there as bad or worse than Republicans. But we need to actually show some solidarity and engagement to get them to work to be better than Republicans and better than they are. Which most leftists are loathe to do. If we’re going to have a path to rank choice voting, multi-party systems, and more small d democratic representation. The path to that is through Democrats.

No it’s not. By abolishing the mutual defense pact of all those different nations it will simply Empower a different group of people. Who are just as bad actors as NATO has traditionally been. And any claim to the contrary is pants on head crazy.

Are you seriously insisting that Russia who is currently invading ukraine. And China who is poisoning the reefs and fishing spots around their neighbors in order to hurt them while also saber rattling at Taiwan would see the dissolution of NATO and say okay we’ll be good people now? The fact that they didn’t take the time to really try to smear him doesn’t mean he’s hard to smear. There were a lot of accusations that could have gotten a lot of play Propaganda wise. Like him and his wife honeymooning in Russia. That got bare minimal play during the campaign because it was much more handy to keep the Democrats divided. In fact I think it was probably Democrats that pointed that out. But since they don’t directly control the messaging machine. And the people who do did not want that message out it didn’t get out.

Just to point this out to you since you seem to not understand. Smears don’t have to be true. Often they aren’t. All you need to smear someone successfully is a consistent message driven into them.
