Summary
A hacker accessed a file containing damaging testimony about former Congressman Matt Gaetz, President-elect Donald Trump’s attorney general pick.
The file includes sworn statements from a woman alleging she had sex with Gaetz in 2017 when she was 17, corroborating testimony from a witness, and other evidence from a civil suit involving Gaetz ally Christopher Dorworth.
The hacked materials, which remain unpublished, also include unredacted personal information of witnesses and evidence tied to federal and congressional investigations.
The hacker’s motive remains unknown.
Publish it or fuck off
I don’t think that would have the effect within the legal system that you think it might have
Still good to have it out there.
Can’t know if it isn’t released
The fact that he’s saying it instead of publishing is how you know he’s not for real
Counter-offer: hacking wants that sweet sweet BTC payout.
Or baguettes
who’s saying what?
edit: (read the article)
Witness prolly has the very real fear of “they release it, he gets confirmed anyway, Gaetz throws the book at him.” Easy for keyboard warriors to chide this person with no consequences to themselves.
I can’t remember exactly how it was said but, “The internet is all gas no breaks. Random strangers will hype you up and gleefully watch you ruin your life.”
So black out the name and release it.
Then why perform the hack in the first place? It doesnt add up unless the dude is just trying to blackmail into $
Maybe we don’t doxx the witnesses, okay?
So, just let him get away with it then? Because, Canadian, that’s what will happen.
No you redact it first.
Any idiot with Adobe Acrobat can do that. It shouldn’t delay anything.
The delay is that it’s not real.
Edit: the hack part
Agreed. Clogging up our news cycle with B.S.
