Tens of thousands of demonstrators have gathered in Tel Aviv to call for an end to the war in Gaza and the release of hostages, one of the largest demonstrations in Israel since the start of the fighting in October 2023.

The rally on Sunday evening was the culmination of a day of nationwide protests and a general strike to pressure the government to halt the military campaign. “Bring them all home! Stop the war!” shouted the vast crowd, which had converged on the so-called Hostage Square in Tel Aviv plaza – a focal point for protesters throughout the war.

Netanyahu is leading in the latest polls from what I read by a relatively comfortable margin, so I don’t think he’s feeling much pressure from within to stop before annexing parts of Gaza at the very least. Israelis are being taught to hate their neighbors with a passion all their lives and the genocide is justified in their eyes.

Exactly one lifetime since their own relatives were treated the same way. Rinse and repeat every few decades.

Long story short: That didn’t happen. Long story long: About half of Israeli Jews are of Middle Eastern descent, and a majority of the rest are descended from Eastern Europeans who immigrated in the pre-WWII 20th century. While they did have a history of persecution, the vast majority of these guys didn’t suffer anything close to what Israel is doing to Gazans right now.

That’s a stretch. Most of them had zero relatives that were genocided. Instead most of them had relatives that started the genocide of non-white jews, never stopped and now are happy to continue.

This isn’t true, about half of Gazans now support anti-Hamas demonstrations. It absolute isn’t an insignificant proportion.

“Favorability of the October 7 attack, the belief that Hamas will win the war, and support for Hamas continue to decline, but the overwhelming majority is opposed to Hamas disarmament and does not believe that release of the hostages will bring an end to the war. Nonetheless, about half of Gazans support the anti-Hamas demonstrations and almost half want to leave the Gaza Strip if they could. Support for the two-state solution remains unchanged but support for armed struggle drops”

          This isn’t true

          🤔

On the Palestinian side, satisfaction with Hamas’ performance continues to drop but it is higher than satisfaction with the PA, Fatah, and President Abbas.

          😉

the overwhelming majority is opposed to Hamas disarmament and does not believe that release of the hostages will bring an end to the war

and then wonder why there is no cease fire? i guess begging on instagram for naive white people in western countries to help them is the plan 🫩

Don’t bother. Blind outrage has no room for nuance and education. Social media is for me to feel right not to inform myself about complex situations.
