Google stopped pretending and went full evil a while ago.

Apple still pretends to be a “good” corporation that guards its users privacy and protects them from government overreach.

It’s all Teslas until a Linux phone drops that is ready for prime time. Alternatively you can return to our lord and savior Nokia

until a Linux phone drops that is ready for prime time

I think about this often. the hardware is there. linux itself is the heart of android.

manufacturing requires shittons of capital and rolling up a phone OS that carriers will allow on their networks are harder challenges, but I don’t think they’re insurmountable…

If you think that google isn’t getting a sweet cut of Samsung, Oneplus, etc. you’re out of your mind

            What a breathtakingly stupid conclusion.

How are you not aware of the concept of picking the Least Bad of several not so great options?

In summary, no I am not out of my mind, yes you need to have a bit more flexibility in your cognition.

I mean the least bad would be buying a used pixel and putting grapheneOS on it. Samsung does even more spying than Google and offers no option for unlocking the boot loader in case Linux OS do become stable. You’re accusing Apple of removing an app when Android removes said apps as well? But sorry I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings

Can you think of anything else that detracts from the initial point of not buying a naziPhone?

Perhaps a history of the downfall of Google?

                Pivot to discussing llms?

                Abstract away from electronics altogether?

Redirect from crapping on apple by any means necessary?

Ok so buy what then? Go Amish?

You’re overcomplicating this. Tim Fuckface had a farcical bending the knee ceremony, bearing a gold statue in tribute.

Get an android phone from anyone other than Google.

When a viable android alternative shows up, convert.

But… android phones use google play services. It’s really no better, you give them all of your sweet sweet personal info either way.

It’s actually possible to have a somewhat usable smartphone with Android, without Google services. That’s just not possible with Apple. You can even buy an Android without Google today. With a phone like this, whether off-the-shelf or DIY, you can have a reasonably useful phone, use the web, and organize without being tracked by Google or Apple, and therefore the fascist US gov’t. That’s not possible with an iPhone.

I’m really not trying to be. My point is we have no choice but to purchase from Nazi enablers, so what makes Apple the most evil one? Both CEOs were giving him handjobs at the inauguration.

Tl;dr: I will use whataboutism to soothe and supress anything negative about my precious naziPhone. It is of utmost importance that we do not take punitive action that will harm Apple financially. Please, please, divert your attention from Apple specifically.
