Online skeptics wondered if Mr. Miller had caught himself saying something he did not mean to. CNN says there was a technical glitch.

Plenary authority is the broad and effectively limitless power of a single government or the unrestricted power of government branches, departments, or officials over particular operations.

I’d never heard the term before, but now you have.

I heard the term in Dogma. They were referring to the power of the Catholic Church when they mentioned it. I honestly thought it was a purely religious term

I was trying to figure out where I had heard it. I know I had heard the word but could not think of the source. Im like 99% sure now it was from that movie.

Admittedly in Dogma they were talking about plenary indulgences more than plenary authority, but yeah. I don’t even remember hearing a priest talk about plenary authority, and my parents sent me to a Catholic school. We aren’t Catholic and I’m an obstantant shit, so I really tried to memorize all the logical inconsistencies, so I could be a PITA during religion classes. I got my 3rd grade religion teacher to retire 5 years early, because my younger brothers were coming up behind me, and she didn’t realize that they were much better behaved, lol.

Oh yeah I had the indoctrination right through 8th grade. My wife likes to tease me about being both an altar boy and boy scout at times.
