100th and most beloved character: Some dude with a knife
6th character is poor Mr Snake’s long lost twin brother Snek
Your 7th is Solidus Snake
8th is named Badger. Still a snek.
9, 10 are actually just a coupla wild & crazy fun guys…
Snek with 98 mage hands because frankly 100 was too many what was he thinking
Lol shockingly similar to one of my characters who was a squirrel wizard.
I always enjoyed this aspect of D&D games: the creative, interesting enemies, places, and artifacts that you could find in some of the books/tomes.
In fact, i was able to find the exact book i was thinking of at archive.org! The AD&D 2nd edition Book of Artifacts: https://archive.org/details/tsr02138add2ebookofartifacts/mode/1up
Here’s one of my favorites from the book, though it’s been so long i really could do to give in another gander:
That’s a direct ripoff of Slavic folklore, FYI
It directly says so in the text of the book.
Yeah, I didn’t read the text on the page, only the title.
Everything is derivative.
I saw that too!! I was googling about it for a while this morning, fascinating stuff! I enjoy the ways that they recommend introducing the character and house into a campaign etc in the Book of Artifacts, too. I think it’s cool they use real folklore to give the game flavor and interest.

"Mom can I have dragon?
“No, we have dragon at home.”
Another one of those cases where the “within field of vision” part of mage hand isn’t really adhered to.
A spectral, floating hand appears at a point you choose within range.
Where would that part be?
probably a previous edition?
So I checked and it depends on the species but one flying snake has a field of view of 308.5°. So for some species they’d be able to have hands way apart from each other
Quiet you, those rules are for the players!
Brilliant! What book is this from?
According to here it’s from Tome of Beasts 2.
Tome of Beasts 2 by Kobold Press
Yeah. And even when someone challenges you to play another noble paladin, they never get less weird.
Ohhh, I thought you said ignoble, sorry
