Oh boy, copyright holders are about to learn about the Streisand effect
isnt this kind of good thing? The original website is the best for searching stuff from there and by doing this, it takes off some heat from the website
It’s a bad thing because people are less likely to come across it at all.
We should stop being afraid to fight because we think our oppressors will fight back.
That’s bitch-made, punk-ass behavior.
Who tf uses google anymore anyway? (I know, I know, a sea of normies)
Good thing I use Startpage
Pretty sure startpage shows the same results as google.
Mojeek is a search engine that prides itself on lack of censorship, but it can be hard to find things there as well.
Here is the front page: https://annas-archive.org/
I’m surprised that someone that would use Anna’s Archive, would use Google as their search engine.
Or use a search engine to access it in general. Anna’s Archive itself is a search engine, it’s better to just bookmark it and search for stuff directly from there.
Is it on a stable website, or does it change sometimes? And what’s the address?
Is stable for me for a long time already. Maybe you need to switch DNS, as some ISPs have a DNS block. But one should switch DNS regardless.
Thanks
This was linked in like the first sentence of the article, and it has an up-to-date list of the current URLs.
Thanks, it would never occur to me to look for it on Wikipedia.
I’ve seen a lot of very tech savvy people still using google and chrome to this day. It’s the top search engine. The majority of people use it, including pirates.
Sometimes I’m just lazy. Don’t use chrome but google as a search engine since it’s the default and sometimes I can’t be bothered to change it.
I usually use ddg but sometimes it can’t find things in non-English languages whereas google has the results I’m looking for.
They probably don’t, tbh. Question is if this will even affect the traffic in any way.
If I want to find a pdf, whether it be a book, comic or research paper, I use Yandex - Google has been unusable in that way for a long time now.
I used to find books and papers by googling the title and clicking on results. It’s not that crazy.
Well that’s a funny coincidence, I’ve removed Google URLs and services from all my devices and browsers.
Waiting to see who grapheneOS is working with next year and what models, then completely and finally degoogling my life.
You don’t have to wait, start it now! LineageOS with MicroG is a fine Android OS without Google. It’s supported on many devices.
Everyone knows Ducks are the best for sailing the waters! (noai.duckduckgo.com) lol
yandex is better, ddg is just bing
isn’t yandex Russian owned?
Yes, and while it may give you results that you won’t find in Western search engines, it’s still controlled by the state in what it puts out.
Yes, that’s why they don’t care about copyrighted content outside of Russia.
DDG for everyday use, Yandex for media.
W
it is. it also doesnt work well with js disabled and shows many captchas which absolutely sucks. the search results are pretty good tho.
Rude of them
