The “tea party” did the same thing for conservatism. The “tea party” thing morphed into the “maga” thing. The “maga” bullshit will likely go through a re-branding if Taco flames out anything like W did.

Imagine if we had a media that actually pointed out that all this bullshit was going on and not letting the Nazis burn their uniforms and pretend they never heard of W, or Pedonald, and certainly were never part of this Republican Party thing, they are just “independents” who are “taxed enough already”, LOL.

Imagine if, instead of that - we had a media that didn’t feel the need to be needlessly “objective” in the face of massive amounts of lying, and instead, pointed out that all these people are Republicans. That “tea bagger/tea party” == “maga” == “alt right” == conservative == Republican.

It’s all the same awful people with basically the same agenda: steal money from the lower and middle class, give it to the parasitic class of elites, crush labor and let corporations rule, while using racist/misogynist policies and rhetoric to get just enough morons to vote for them. I wish we had a media that would not be shy about rigorously pointing this out and every opportunity, but most of our media is run by the very same corporations that wish to rule…

I mean it’s a trippple doom for her. She’s a woman, she’s half way shedding maga siding with dem’s on the epstein files, and on protecting healthcare, and she has a history of being outright crazy in multiple directions.

In short, I don’t think her recent forays into sanity are going to erase the stain the R party has on it now, nor erase her claims of weather controlling machines and space lasers to earn any support from the left.

Then to court maga… obviously they’d need to be less sexist, and she’d need to seem more… on trumps side.

I think AOC’s comment is probably right, she got snubbed for senate seat by trump… and now she’s pissed and wanting to break that glass ceiling.

I can give that on Isreal, she takes anti-semitism without the caveat of “except the ones that are in power commiting a genocide”. The release the epstein files, and protect healthcare, is either she’s actually concerned about helping people or punishing bad guys… or she’s just pissed off with something in her party and is playing a contrarian to get something she wants (which yeah, I’d lean more towards the second, but general bigotry doesn’t quite explain those 2).

Disagree. For one, it’d be an underwhelming point as a historic marker if it’s the only option. And two, we haven’t gotten a female president yet cuz the women we keep running are shit candidates. Sexism is absolutely a factor, but I don’t think it compares to the absolute fuckton of baggage (actual or perceived - doesn’t matter) that comes with Hillary, or Harris’s last minute embrace of Israel’s genocide.

We haven’t actually tried running a woman who’s also a decent human being. AOC would wipe the floor with her opponent’s face, regardless of that opponent’s gender.

Eh, it doesn’t have to be the most stupendous, amazing victory for women to be important and good. Two female candidates would still be a huge deal, assuming proper primaries were conducted. That said, I would be astounded if the Republican nominee is a woman any time soon.

And who fuckin knows on the Republican nominee… I’m sure if MTG says enough slurs, or stomps on enough puppies, or shoots enough kindergartens, etc, on live TV the republican voter base could be persuaded to overlook the fact that she’s a woman. She’s already got behaving like a fucking dumbass down to a science, and the R’s love that shit, so… as Republican standards go for presidential material go, she checks a lot of the boxes.

            they

The only time “they” makes sense when referencing the DNC is the ~400 voting members whose sole duty is to elect a chair if there’s no Dem president to nominate one…

And “they” 100% learned their lesson by not picking a neoliberal chair.

Now those ~400 people won’t have anything to do with the DNC till the next one, about 3 years and 3 months from now.

Like, I 100% get the distrust, and if you just a distrustful person ask yourself this:

Why did billionaire owned media stop telling people the DNC is the only shot and everyone has to just accept the lesser evil?

If billionaires aren’t carrying water for the DNC, the DNC likely isn’t carrying water for billionaires.

All I ask is you vote in Dem primaries, especially if you consider yourself left of the party.

There is no obligation after the Dem primary, and the worst that could possibly happen is you make Dems slightly more left, and still vote for Mickey Mouse or Batman in the general.

We just can’t let neoliberals take the party back or this has all been for nothing.

Ken Martin? By what metric!? I’ll give you that he’s not some identity politiking DINO, but he’s still extremely, and fundamentally a capitalist liberal.

Why did billionaire owned media stop telling people the DNC is the only shot and everyone has to just accept the lesser evil?

What are you talking about? Go onto any mainstream social media, news outlet, etc. and this is very much still the line.

All I ask is you vote in Dem primaries

Sure, and all I ask is you vote for whichever candidate best represents you come election time, regardless of “how likely they are to win”.

We just can’t let neoliberals take the party back or this has all been for nothing.

They never left! All what has been for nothing?

but he’s still extremely, and fundamentally a capitalist liberal.

His personal political beliefs don’t matter, because he believes in a bottom up party structure where: the party’s purpose is getting Dems elected, elected Dems purpose is to represent the will of Dem voters, and Dem voters set the party platform mainly by selecting a candidate in a fair primary…

The shit part is, everyone is so used to a biased DNC that uses corruption and threats of defunding state parties to make politicians represent the DNC chair and not the voters.

You fundamentally don’t know how this works, and you need to at least admit that before you change it. And if you don’t change it, all you’re doing with these comments is convincing people left of neoliberls to give up on the party, which depress Dem primary turnout…

And could lead to the only way neoliberls take the party back and we lose it

You know how on the TV there’s this type of a character that’s like a female head of a crime family that has to be smarter and stronger than the men and everyone is scared of her and respects her? MAGA would vote for a candidate like that. They don’t like womanly women that are educated and attractive. A strong, christian motherly figure? That’s a different story.

I mean, she is a better representation of what republicans and MAGA actually say they are. When you really dig in to what they believe they would never vote for Trump if they weren’t indoctrinated into a cult that he created. He’s literally against everything they stand for when you go past the surface but they are so blinded by owning the libs that they don’t see it anymore. Remember before the election last year and every republican, including voters, said that Trump was poison and that they would never support him again? They know this deep down even if they won’t admit it. They just either don’t care, want something out of it, or are genuinely blind to him fucking everyone over. MTG used to be one of the hardcore believers and I genuinely think was brainwashed and is slowly starting to realize it.

But to be clear, I still think she is a garbage human. I just believe that deep down this is the candidate they’d actually want if they weren’t so deep in the propaganda from their Dear Leader. She would actually do republican things and not just use it as a guise to become a dictator.

How do they know? Trying to understand this woman is worse than trying to understand lassie, when she runs to tell people that Timmy fell down the well. Shes the human equivalent of smashing your face into the keyboard and crossing your fingers you get a coherent sentence out of it.
