    If it’s the culmination of his work, does that mean it won’t have any of the features he claims to be in it? Is there a chance it’s not even a game? You just download an WEBM file that’s 50 gig in size?

      Dungeon Keeper didn’t need one. Best game made IMHO. Bullfrog were excellent, but what happened to this guy later in his career, I have no idea.

        Fable was also decent because I think the hype at the time was literally just “the main character changes if you’re good or evil” and “you can buy houses and get married.”

        He could make a decent game in the past when he didn’t embarrass himself.

          Nah, Fable had mountains of bullshit, too.

          From simple things like having a dragon boss fight (didn’t happen), or dynamics between you and rival heroes (it’s all scripted and only involves one) to extreme bullshit like “you can carve your name in a tree and 30 years later it will still be there!” (not even as a scripted event is this a thing)

          Like, it wasn’t a terrible game, but it is far and away from being the game Pete promised.

            The dog was supposed to be so much more in fable.

            Spore was supposed to have simulated physics for the creature phases…

            I am glad the Thrive community has some torch bearers still pushing for it.

              Spore was supposed to have algorithmic animations based on how you constructed them, but EA did not give Wright the time or resources to do half of what he wanted, and none of his promises were straight lies about what even would have been possible at the time.

      I played Fable 3 around 2017 I think? Ok game, but Fable 1 was much better. Felt like they veered too much on making it linear. I wish M$ would release Fable 2 for PC, but that’s unlikely

        I still laugh when I think about Landlord Justifier 3.

        The real shame about the Fable setting is there were some great designs in the franchise, bogged down by mediocre combat and some real weird plot points

          Now that you mention it, the only way to be a good king in that game is by owning all the property, which is the only reliable way to get the money needed for the choices that don’t fuck the citizens. One of the biggest letdowns is not being able to kill that filthy mr industrialist

    Once known as the father of Fable during his tenure at Lionhead, the developer went through a stint of disappointing fans in the Godus era of current studio 22cans, all after the game received years of development and Kickstarter support but then never launched…

    Only criticism out of the whole article. And they left the kiddie gloves on. Wonder how much Pete paid for them to essentially felate him.

    Guy has some ok ideas, but he needs someone above him to reign in his bullshit. Fable was great, flawed but great. Black & White was a classic and brought a real innovative experience compared to other games at that time. Godus started off really interesting, and then Pete just couldn’t help himself, feature creep, adding shit no one wanted, and then abandoned it after it became clear that he’d fucked it up.
    The man is a shitty version of Midas, every good thing he touches turns to shit.

      Black & White did really cool things, but they didn’t really work. You could try hundreds of times to show your creature how to do something, but the learning didn’t work.

      Cool concept, but it was puddle deep. And no fun, for me at least, once I realized the game didn’t come close to the hype.

      Maybe this time will be different, but I won’t hold my breath.

        🤣🤣🤣 Absolutely!

        I think I made it to the 3rd mission before the mechanics showed how broken they were. It was probably obvious before that, but I was a kid, give me a break.

        Maybe this time will be different, but I won’t hold my breath.

        I won’t even be paying attention to see how it pans out. I’ll lay money down on it being abandoned and a broken jank-ass mess.

      Godus lived up to the hype til the scaled it back to hit the mobile market then immediately stopped development after making the older more finished build unavailable. It was a genuinely good game. Was.

    Will we be able to plant an acorn and watch it grow into a magnificent tree? I actually liked Fable for what it was.

    As with all games wait a while before buying it. But particularly with Peter Molyneux games

    I looked at the trailer and some parts of it remind me of his failed NFT game. This guy doesn’t create games out of passion for games. Its all about the money with this fraud.
