Trump also told the Times that he isn’t opposed to using nuclear force if he “needed it” to take over the Arctic island but that “it might upset NATO," since the island is a self-governing territory of NATO member country Denmark.
I want Donald Trump’s neck in a guillotine. It’s psychologically important to me.
This is America! We hang horse thieves here.
*poor horse thieves
*black horse thieves
This is the 21st century, we solve our problems with gunpowder and lead.
I accept your terms.
Ideally the short drop.
… too quick, too clean.
… too painless.
You say that, but I’m ready for all this to be over and behind us.
You’re gonna be ready for a long time then.
Thats not how any of this works, pretending away a problem and just magically snapping back to “normal”.
That doesn’t happen in situations like this, go read a history book.
“Normal” is gone, never to return, because “normal” was built on too many lies, lies whose contradictions led us to this current moment.
This country will literally never be the same, it will be fundamentally different for generations, this Trump era is going to be a … whole distinct defining subsection of our history, not unlike the way Nazism was/is for the history of modern Germany.
There is no pinch me and wake me up from the nightmare.
The nightmare is real, and it will take effort, conviction, and courage to try build something better.
I don’t mean “normal” for the U.S., I mean normal for the rest of the world. I legitimately don’t care how this transition ends up going for the U.S. I just want to be rid of them.
The U.S. was never a good country. The colonisers were religious extremists who left Europe because their views were too extremist for us, even way back then. It’s built on a foundation of genocide and murder, and it never grew past that. It’s never cared for its people. It was always an oligarchy, that was literally the entire point of the U.S. gaining independence from the British crown.
Trump being in charge isn’t really that different from before. He’s unhinged and less political, but he didn’t set all of this up. All of the systems that enable him were already in place and used by those before him. The U.S. was always a conniving and manipulative country, it’s never really had allies, just tools. It’s sad that it took this long for so many to realise, and even now our politicians are hedging their bets that things return to the old status-quo when really they should be severing all ties and leaving the U.S. to collapse in on itself.
Uh, well if the transition goes very poorly, uh, WW3 starts and maybe we all get nuked, so, you might wanna care about that.
And … given what you’re saying now… by ‘this whole thing over and behind us’ and you ‘just want to be rid of them’… you mean…
… just, ctrl+z on the entire history of the US?
You mean the US becomes ‘normal’ by some other other country or countries standard of ‘normal’?
My point remains, you have to get from point A to point B, somehow, whatever your definition of point B is.
No disagreement that US has sucked in a whole lotta extremely horrible ways, since before day 1… but… my point is that wishful thinking is pointless, its actually just virtue signalling.
You’re just saying that… the US should just magically go away or transform… somehow…?
Yep, US bad, we agree.
US bad, but what do about US bad?
In the end, I think any “capital-S” State power can have fingers pointed at all the ways it’s abused that power regardless of the consent of the governed.
There are still good things people of the US have done (even still doing, however ignored and against the odds), good people are everywhere, and to say “US always bad burn it all” feels like an emotional and lazy take that abdicates the responsibility to combat evil, and lets it run roughshod with a shrug.
We must hope fiercely that we can replace this flawed and exploited system with something better, or we have nothing to fight for. “Something that’s not this” is not good enough and won’t unite people to make a difference.
Depends on how sharp and how lightweight it is.
Let me just say this plainly:
Bring back drawing and quartering.
Clarance Thomas can undergo that treatment via his motorcoach fleet.
Ya know how iron maidens were probably not actually a real thing? Let’s test one out, just the once.
White House correspondent Katie Rogers — whom Trump recently called “ugly, both inside and out” for writing a story about his age — chimed in to ask, “Psychologically important to you or to the United States?”
“Psychologically important for me," Trump answered. “Now, maybe another president would feel differently, but so far I’ve been right about everything.”
These were hard times for The Onion staff.
It must suck working at the onion. Real life keeps using all of your good satire ideas.
They might as well transition into the only reliable news organization in the country.
Maybe the best solution is to build a Truman show like simulated world and contain the Trump problem in there.

I was thinking that Paradox should create a modern grand strategy simulation specifically for him, and just have everyone tell him that it’s real.
A Paradox game for Trump? I think a map colouring book would be more on his level.
Rope is cheap are there are gas stations literally everywhere
Just build a dome over america and let them do their thing.
A golden dome, if you will
Let’s make it really realistic. Perhaps we can sacrifice Rubio to be in there blowing him 24/7?

He already has an emotional support Venezuela why does he also need an emotional support Greenland too?
“National Security” is the new lebensraum
It’s psychologically important to me and many others that he fucking die.
Wanting to see Trump die violently is the moral baseline now. Anything else is fucking suspect.
The weight off the shoulders upon receiving that news. . .I’m beginning to struggle to even imagine.
Finally saying out loud “feels before reals”.
Yes by all means let’s prioritize what the child raping bubba blowing treasonous con man wants
“we’re not going to have Russia or China as a neighbor.”
Alaska has some news for ya, buddy
*gives alaska to russia*
Trump couldn’t find it on a map a year ago. The real reason is he can’t handle anyone saying no to him.
Somebody told him that he couldn’t do anything he wanted whenever he wanted to, and he took offence to that.
My therapist has also recommended I consider conquering sovereign states. That or exercise.
And we’ll do just about anything before we give in to exercise!
Donald: Why are GenZ’s having time off and can do what they want for their mental health? Why can’t I take care of my mental health by taking Greenland?
It just looks so big on a map. That is the reason Trump is on board. Other people in the administration and around it may have different reasons but Trump just wants this big island on the maps have a USA on it.
It’s ‘Psychologically Important for Me’
He’s an emotionally stunted narcissistic child who needs constant reassurance so he can believe he’s not a failure as a human being.
He’s still a failure as a human being and history will remember him as one.
He’s also got dementia so he can’t filter himself as well, anymore. His statements are going to get crazier and crazier. He’ll say he should be in charge of the world before 2026 is over.
He’ll say he should be in charge of the world before 2026 is over.
He might start the war to make it happen.
I doubt a person as profoundly broken as he is should be deciding what is “psychologically important” for himself. Probably should have a really good psychiatrist weighing in on treatment, but it probably won’t include making him feel better about himself by conquering random countries.
Sounds like something a rapist would say…
25th amendment justification right there.
Throw it on the pile.
Then we’re stuck with Vance, who would have a couple of years normalize MAGA, and get reelected in 2028.
Better to let Trump burn it to the ground, and then crush and purge MAGA once and for all.
Idk, Vance has always been distant from the rest of the administration, and simply put he has no rizz. Utterly sauceless. There’s nothing fun or whimsical about him that MAGA chuds can project a parasocial relationship onto.
Plus, his wife isn’t white, which is already a big problem for large swaths of the Trump base.
I just don’t think he has it in him to hold the MAGA coalition together
Vance (a) would not be able to play the “drunk master” game (b) does not have the political capital of Trump.
I just don’t think he has it in him to hold the MAGA coalition together
Nobody does, it’s a classic Cult of Personality. MAGA is all about Trump, and when he assumes room temperature, it’s all over, except for the backstabbing, recriminations, and rationalizations.
Sure, there are plenty who will claim to be his successor, including Vance, Rubio, Hegseth, Bondi, etc. But they will be attacked by Don Jr, who surely sees himself as Trump’s obvious successor, and possibly other Trump inner circle loyalists. Then there are the “reformers” like MTG and Hawley who will be burning down the MAGA house. Then there will be the hapless, feckless Trad Republicans, claiming to have been held hostage for over a decade, who just want to revive their honorable party. Blah, blah, blah.
We can’t forget that the Republican Party is as dead as the Whigs, that was just they’re larval form, before they morphed into their final form - MAGA. They are all MAGA now, and MAGA must be crushed and purged from our government, and our society.
But if we just wait them out, MAGA will probably mostly end itself, they are that virtuosically incompetent. The only problem is the massive damage they’ll do along the way.
You need the cabinet to invoke the 25th anyway. That’s not going to happen.
