Ghislaine Maxwell, the jailed associate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, has agreed to testify under oath before the congressional committee investigating the federal government’s handling of the Epstein files.
Committee chairman James Comer, who is leading the investigation, says Maxwell will depose virtually on 9 February.
Maxwell’s legal team has previously said she would decline to answer questions under her constitutional right to remain silent unless she is granted legal immunity.
Comer, previewing the deposition, said, “her lawyers have been saying she is going to plead the Fifth,” referring to the US Fifth Amendment right to decline to speak to authorities.

There’s a lot here that I don’t understand.
If her and her lawyers are saying she’s not going to reveal anything, why has she “agreed” to testify?
Also, if she’s been demanding immunity for testifying, is that a very strong implication that there are significant additional crimes of which she has not yet been charged?
She’ll probably get more perks just like the last time the DOJ met with her.
Previously they met and after she released a statement saying that Donald Trump wasn’t a client of Epstein’s. Shortly after, she was transferred to a “club fed” prison where she gets to roam freely, have yoga classes, etc. They’re likely going to do something similar again.
Perhaps she will answer questions about Democrats and plead the 5th the rest of the time. Perhaps they’ll even give her immunity for her “brave” testimony about how Bill and Hilary Clinton were the real ring leaders. I doubt any part of the process will be good for the country.
Lie. She’s going to lie before congress. I’d bring her victims in to see her testify and, as needed, call out her lies.

I don’t. We don’t need her and can’t trust anything she says. I hope she burns for all the heinous shit she’s already done.
They have tons they’re hiding (our own government). There’s 0% chance anything she says is suddenly going to amount to anything.
It is the same principal as “don’t talk to the police”. while the supreme Court is a useless political entity at this point, many state courts are handing out meaningful, fairly impartial, and impactful verdicts. As something reliable and in public record, even a lie can be used to fill the known witnesses’ testimony bingo cards and hang those involved.
Now should a president be found guilty of a state felony while in office… that would really test our institutions in a new way. I don’t have a lot of hope, but tearing the veneer off this fascist regime before it’s mechanized is a motive in itself. The people do have a lot of power.
There is at least one active case under consideration in which the regime is trying to extend the power of the presidential pardon to cover state crimes as well.
