Let that sink in. The Department of Justice openly admits defying court orders multiple times.

At least they are an independent body /s

This could be stopped instantly if the judges involved held the DOJ in contempt and put them in jail instead of responding with a furrowed brow and wagging finger.

    U.S. courts are a joke.

The judges aren’t even holding these assholes in contempt for repeatedly violating court orders. If lawyers are held in contempt they can be disbarred which can destroy their careers, arguably even more of a deterrent than a short time in a cell.

This keeps happening because these judges are refusing to use the tools they have to uphold their rulings and the law. If there is no enforcement there is no law.

ICE is pulling a bunch of racist chuds. Imagine if the Marshalls pulled a bunch of folks who’d say, “fuck it, I’ll arrest these chuds because I think it’s right.” Same energy, different purposes.

The Marshall Service should be moved under the Judicial. Separated from the Executive branch for explicitly this type of circumstance. Existing separation of powers are clearly inadequate.

Okay, who is going to go to prison over this, though?

Imagine anyone else reading this, being to be able to just ignore a court order.

This is also where all the “it was an official act, so im immune” bullshit falls apart. How can defying court oders be an official presidential act? Isn’t a president defying court orders the definition of not doing his job?

They should use that line, get thrown in jail since they aren’t immune, then be pardoned by Trump citing that power.

I’d really like to see it get used full circle like that just to show how fucking stupid that ruling was.
