Also, the sky is blue.
People are still confused or dismissive whenever I try to explain why I try to vote for character quality over party or policy. sigh
What’s absolutely wild is that lots of people voted for this guy bc they firmly believed he was the moral high-ground as opposed to those scary devil-loving democrats. It’s mind-boggling…
character can be faked compared to a voting record though. I get what you mean but there is party in the us where just being in it makes the persons character questionable at best. So over party and policy only applies to me if there of reasonable party or policy. If republicans were like they were with teddy roosevelt or lincoln things would be different.
I mean you’re right, but also Lieu is a democrat which is already the party that his voters are more likely to vote for.
I had a dream a couple of days ago that took place in a future where Trump had been in prison, died and stuff had gotten better. A lot of stuff that’s uncertain now had been proven. The specific scene of the dream was me and part of my family along with others, imaginary people who were also family, sitting down to watch news and seeing coverage of dig sites at trumps golf course where many skeletons had been found, and more were expected. There had already been many more found on Epsteins island and other places. The general feeling was of having been through some fucked up shit but we, all of humanity, managed to do better than we all thought and expected and were now in the “after a war” moment of just finding out as much as possible of what really had happened.
It was a very heavy, both in good and bad ways, moment.
It’s stuck with me and I really hope we can get to that point, or something even remotely close, sometime soon enough.I had a dream too. I was on the beach, and noticed epstein casually walking to the ocean to swim. I screamed like a maniac, every epithet you could think of, rapist, murderer, traitor, everything. Epstein didn’t care, didn’t even acknowledge it- just kept walking. I looked around at a crowd of onlookers for help. They were only looking at me. Who was the crazy person disrupting things? I started to doubt myself. Was I crazy? Could all of this really be true? Things seem to be continuing as normal. How could unspeakable horrors have been at the core of western society for decades?
Reminded me of the ending of ‘brave new world’ if anyone here has read that one. Pretty chilling.

I’m sure it’s all a coincidence.
Wake me when they start getting plumbered, head off related action, or otherwise. Prison is not an option for them they will just get out somehow
Hey look - a graph of the worst people we know.
I can’t find Stephen Miller on there though…
he was too poor for Epstein.
One of those “all of the people on the graph are the worst people we know, but not all of the worst people we know are on the graph” type of deals.
Everyone knows he’s a pedophile rapist and a racist, now we just need to know if he directly ordered murders. Most of us knows the answer tho.
Even if he did? He’d still have that Sarah Palin Floor of supporters.
Yeah, we know that. We ALL fucking know that. Frankly so many of us know that so clearly that they could release the whole thing and not only would nobody be surprised, but the limp wristed fuckwits in positions of power would still continue to do nothing.
Releasing the Trump-Epstein documents would only serve to implicate anyone else who has thus far managed to fly under the radar. There can’t be anyone left with more than a room temperature IQ who is waiting to see the full unredacted documents before they FINALLY believe Trump did that shit.
I mean, they stripped Prince Andrew of his title and arrested him later over this stuff.
But apparently Pedonald is a special kind of prince over here in the land of no kings.
they stripped Prince Andrew of his title and arrested him later over this stuff.
no, they did not. He was arrested for sharing state secrets, rape and pedophilia still cool at Buckingham.
So I just got finished reading Posobiec’s “Unhumans”, which’s a book with a forward by Bannon, and shout outs from Vance, Trump Jr, etc etc. If I remember right, Vance’s quote was along the lines of “Posobiec shows us what we need to do to counter the left”.
In the book they openly praise fascists and dictators, such as Spain’s Franco. They openly call anyone who doesn’t support fascists/dictators as unhumans, and basically call for unhumans to be killed “because that’s what they’d do to us!”. In their thinking, Donald is a ‘great man’ that upholds “human civilization”, and anyone against him in any way is an ‘unhuman’ looking to destroy civilization.
I think that book was published in 2023 or 2024. So the elite / upper class of the Republican party and of America more broadly, have been openly, vocally, and emphatically supporting Fascism and Dictators, as well as treating regular ‘citizens’ as enemies/threats that need to be stomped on, since before the election. JD Vance, the VP, and Trump Jr (so the trumps who maybe can read) openly support moving to a fascist dictatorship. Project 2025 was a more ‘operational’ plan, but these people have been openly broadcasting this stuff for a long time now. And Americans voted for them all the same, and haven’t revolted against it or anything.
Thanks for the reminder, I keep meaning to read that.
I think because it’s so obvious how dangerous these people are is why I’m so exasperated with the apathetic voters, not to mention the reactionary centrists, and not some small amount of the left.
It’s worth a read.
Like it’s full of absolute horseshit and batshit takes on history. I spent the first couple chapters checking their citations / references. They were mostly misleading citations, and snippets of things, mashed very poorly into a shape that they then tried to wedge into their fascist manifesto. These shit heads literally quote twitter to try and prove points. At one point the author cites his own op ed. But like, even the stuff they’re trying to cite to support their arguments, if you want to pretend that twitter was viable as a ‘source’, they’re pointing at posts by ppl with 100k followers, which have just like 300 upvotes. So even in a captive audience that’s at least in theory ‘interested’ in the drivel these guys spout, only 0.3% of the people agree. They even include things like twitter post grammatical errors that botch the message.
A more concrete example: they claim at one point that Scott Adams (dilbert) was cancelled for saying (paraphrasing this): “Just one thing, that everyone agrees with: that you should avoid groups of people who hate you”. I mean, a quick search finds a bit of controversy related to Adams saying something more direct/overtly racist, like “White people should just stay away from black people”. He also had a history of similar such comments going back years and years before he lost a bunch of his distributors. But these neo fascists are just like “nononono, just look at this one thing, that we’ve totally reframed to try and make it less racist! Now pretend that single de-racist-ified comment was the only reason he lost work / people stopped wanting to see his stuff! See! Evil unhuman lefties!”.
It’s really something else to see this sort of drivel, lauded by these core right-wing figures, be so shittily constructed. Like the most basic checking of their assertions, makes it fall apart. Every page would be filled with corrections, edits, issues, etc if this had gone through any higher level peer review. In that alone, its worthwhile to read it to get a sense of just how rigorously the “elite” of the USA actually think about … anything.
I had a good idea of who and what these people are since I’ve been posting and lurking on various forums since the BBS days, through Usenet, and onwards.
When Donvict got “elected” the first time, you never saw so much hateful rhetoric from these types that suddenly felt they had a permission structure to say whatever they wanted because of Donvict. Obviously, some videos went viral where these Karens and Kens had meltdowns in public. But definitely the temperature went way up online. It was off the chart on Diaspora. I never blocked so many people in my life as I did on that platform in 2016 and 2017.
I knew Donvict was trouble for two reasons - first, they gave all these idiots a “uniform” right of the bat with those stupid hats. Same with his flawed character - he was a well-known figure even back in the 80s, and most (decent) people thought he was a total asshole.
Lastly, when it comes to conservatives and Republicans, they have a habit of calling anyone and everyone not in their little circlejerk a “Communist” and then trying to dehumanize them based on that bullshit characterization.
Online, you’ll notice the right just assumes everyone that doesn’t love Nazi bullshit and Donvict is a “Communist” and tricked by the Jews into trying to “replace” the white xtian man, etc…they’ve been saying this kind of shit for literal decades when they think they are among like-minded individuals, or anonymous.
The fact that they published such a book and it now gets endorsements from the likes of the VP should shock no one. If people thought that the Republican Party and the John Birch Society really ever had any distance from each other they were in deep denial.
From what I’ve heard, Mein Kampf is similarly drivel. Don’t know if that’s comforting or even more depressing…
I’ve read that one too – not sure if it was the fault of the translators, but it had better structure to it. Like the ideas were still half baked nonsense, and the rhetoric was very blood and soil ish nationalist plonk. But it’s rhetoric/prose was more convincing/plausible.
But the American one is just… like it isn’t even consistent with its self… it’s just utter trash.
I’ve read that one too – not sure if it was the fault of the translators, but it had better structure to it.
The hill I will die on: the English translation of Nena’s 99 Luftballoons is far more poetic than the original. Some translators just have that magic ability to see what the author was going for, and then put it much better in a different language.
Yeah, we know. What the fuck are you going to do about that?
Have you heard about the aliens though?
Did you know the dow was above 50,000 the other day?
The aliens are wondering too.
Unfortunately, without the numbers in the house and the senate, they won’t be able to do anything. They can present articles of impeachment all they want, but they won’t get the votes from republicans.
Their best bet is to sway the court of public opinion to help flip the house and the senate. But there are so many people who won’t give a crap, and will continue voting for the guys protecting pedophiles.
Stop pretending like politicians are going to save us. 95% of them are complicit or are simply making too much money from the status quo to want to change things. We’re going to have to actually roll up our sleeves and organize ourselves if we want real change.
I suppose the Democrats could fillibuster and obstruct every vote possible.
They don’t seem to care anymore and just let them do whatever. I’d rather everything was shutdown than continue another day of doing what a child rapist wants to do
Democrats were in power for 4 years without releasing the files. Why would they now? Or ever?
Because their donors were in them. They didn’t want to reveal they go to the same island.
Yes, that’s why they didn’t release them. I asked, what’s changed that means they would release them now all of a sudden?
No matter how many seats they flip, they don’t seem unable, they seem disinclined. When they were able, they chose not to.
We know
In other news, the sky is blue and the grass is green. Back to you Connie.
Wouldn’t it worse if there was nothing damning and they just weren’t releasing the files as a big fuck you to everyone else?
As in, at this point, him just being a rapist is the best case scenario.
Part of me thinks that the files are weakened by including baseless allegations from anonymous tips and that it would be better to have some hard evidence for this. But another part of me doesn’t want to have that hard evidence emerge because I dread seeing how many people will flatly deny or even try to justify or excuse it.
Other presidents have resigned for less.
I’m pretty sure each and every single week of Trump’s presidency has had things bad enough that they have ended other political careers before, and he just doesn’t stop.
He is a THOROUGHLY shameless man and that is what every dipshit in the country admires about him.
He’s not referring to anything baseless. The allegations I’ve read about are serious and credible.
Can you share specific credible reports? The stuff I’ve seen has been anonymous tips to the FBI tipline that were included in the files. Salacious and maybe even true, but little more than “trust me bro.” Heck, even witnesses that come forward can have questionable credibility (remember Biden accuser Tara Reade, who has since defected to Russia?). I want to see persuasive evidence (though again, I kind of dread it).
I’ve read it as the same. Maybe not anonymous but certainly just a tip line that seemingly anyone could have reported to, with very little corroborating evidence.
The real crime is that it wasn’t followed up on and has been actively suppressed.
So what would have to happen for the evidence to be credible, if a mountain of testimony isn’t? Are you going to stay skeptical until you see full unredacted video of Trump raping a child?
One person’s testimony, in isolation, may be suspect, but this is a lot more than one person with a “Trust me bro” story.
I don’t think that the files are weakened by allegations from anonymous tips. But, if that’s the pillar they’re using to build their case against Trump, that’s pretty worrisome. Holding a press conference about allegations from an anonymous tip line is the equivalent of an attack ad with ominous music and vague, unprovable statements.
If that’s what they’re going to lead with, they better at least take the angle “and it’s very telling that nobody followed up on these incredibly disturbing claims. Why weren’t they investigated?”
they better at least take the angle
And that’s what Lieu did.
It was something he mentioned in passing. But, the focus of his press conference was the same as the headline here: “There are allegations”
And not all anonymous tips are baseless. Hard evidence doesn’t just show up at investigators’ doorsteps except in vanishingly rare cases. Some people are rightly afraid of retaliation. That’s why allegations are investigated, unless the threats are flagrant nonsense (“it wuz alien lizards!!”) or the justice system is captured by criminals as it is now.
But, many anonymous tips are baseless. That’s why there normally isn’t a press conference when those allegations haven’t yet been investigated and verified.
Imagine if Putin was listed in those Epstein files, it would be “allegations”, but confirmations and then they would say Jeffrey Epstein was a Russian agent.
It would be a lot more meaningful if it were “credible allegations” or “credible evidence” or “substantiated reports”. An allegation is just a claim. Some of the stuff in the Epstein files is just calls that were made to a tip line, without any follow-up investigation. I wouldn’t be surprised if a high-profile tip line also has allegations that Trump is a lizard person, or that Epstein had psychic powers.
It’s not that I doubt that Trump did it, it’s just that a mere allegation is nothing. If all they have is allegations, then the case against him is a lot weaker than it actually seems. If these claims were actually investigated, not just written down, they should say that. Even if the claims weren’t investigated and it’s because the FBI was ordered not to investigate, say that. Surely among the 3.5 million pages they’ve released, there’s more than just allegations. Otherwise it seems like they’re trying to pull a fast one, making it seem like a mere allegation is a sign of guilt.
Let even out here, them mfers should not be labeled as ‘alleged’. We all know they done ‘diddy’d’ to children…
Allegations?
