I’d prefer to link to the wapo directly. Although it’s owned by Bezos, it’s still a more reliable source than rawstory.
However, WAPO has put a PAYWALL on a critical story like this. Wheels within wheels.
Voting is the civil option. I’d much rather do the civil option, but I’m just sayin’…
Voting, civil, easiest.
Peaceful shutdown, lose things, harder.
Civil war, lose life, hardest of all.
They’re gonna go the Churchill route though aren’t they?
I think Churchill was onto something with Operation Unthinkable.
Why should we believe WaPo? They are part of the problem
Regardless, this isnt a topic you should turn a blind eye toward.
In this case what are they trying to conceal? Do you believe there to be 18 documents?
it’s too bad we don’t hang anyone for treason anymore.
We’re allowed to in the constitution.
Because it’s up to the american people, and the people expects others act.
What an absolute piece of shit that lawyer is… Fights against any investigation into whether Trump colluded with Russia for 2016, but now says that they think China helped the Democrats in 2020 so that means Trump gets to be dictator.
Hah! Good luck with that… He loses in court like 90% of the time. He’s going to end up like the dude in South Korea.
He loses
Historically, totalitarian groups - Fascist, Communist, pretty much all *ists - have been peopled primarily by losers and grifters.
Indeed, and losing plus being unable to accept that you are a loser is what seems to drive them. I have no doubt he would fully enjoy dictatorship if he were able to successfully obtain it but let’s be real, there are plenty of stories of leaders who want to be dictators and who try and fail. Napoleon is a great example. Although I guess it depends what you consider failure at fascism… Is there a set amount of time one has to control a nation? Personally I would say success is gaining power over a nation and remaining in power until you die and then successfully passing rule to your designated heir. That would mean Napoleon, Hitler, Saddam… all failures. Successful dictators? The Kim family. Stalin. Castro. Tons and tons of others, not going for an exhaustive list here. Another measure of success I suppose is how much harm does the dictator cause while in power? By that measure, Hitler would be a dictator and Trump I guess would be too. I think it all comes down to how can we mitigate the damage while he’s here, get him out as quickly as possible and then endure his ideology does not persist after he’s gone. We’re not doing so great on the first two but I am pretty confident the third will be easy because he is self-destructing spectacularly right now.
Trump is going to die drinking matinis in Mar a Lago, with his only regret being he didn’t hurt more people.
Lightning rarely strikes twice and even John Gotti eventually went down. Whether he faces the consequences he DESERVES that’s another story even prison is too nice for that piece of shit… Keep in mind too, Trump CLEARLY has a severe personality disorder, I doubt he has been happy a single day in his life because ppl like that aren’t capable of feeling happiness or love so, either way, he will die a very unhappy man, that I can guarantee you. Only question is whether we, the people he has harmed, get the justice we deserve. We shall see.
This is only technically true. He’s found a loophole where he makes an obviously illegal order, and that order is in effect for months before it is struck down, and then he can just make a new order like he’s doing right now with tariffs. He keeps getting away with it because the legislative branch is complicit.
What happens if he declares that to prevent voter fraud, voters need to prove eligibility in a way that prevents poor people, or people who have changed names, or people who live in a home owned by somebody else, or nationalized citizens, or people living in selectively restricted voting districts, or people who have a skin tone inaccurately recognized by specifically choosen facial recognition software, or people who are “accidentally” detected to be inactive voters, or people who are just afraid of being disappeared by ICE from voting, and it is enforced long enough to impact the election? Will he finally be thrown out of office before the election? If not, will the people illegally prevented from voting have their votes counted after the order is struck down? Would those people be able to vote before some other illegal order goes into effect or would elections and their results be constantly delayed?
He’s going to end up like the dude in South Korea.
Haha. Americans have no morals or ethics. They re elected Trump despite his illegal coup attempt.
I mean, he barely won, I wouldn’t call that a landslide election. And Americans have been standing up left right and center all while still working our jobs and raising our kids… I’d call that pretty badass and I am still proud of us despite our shortcomings
And after all of these crimes after all of these decades, what consequences has he faced?
So, there is 10% chance? Jones aside, he isn’t losing so much as he should be. Supreme Court already gave him some nonsensical victories.
Interference delivered. SCOTUS approved by design.
