The Cameron County District Attorney Luis V. Saenz told the Texas Tribune that the jury found no probable cause to move forward in criminal charges against the ICE agent. Attorneys for Martinez’s mother, Rachel Reyes, called the jury’s move “devastating” and questioned what information they were given about the March 2025 shooting.

“We do not know what video evidence they were shown, if any,” Reyes’ attorneys said Thursday. “We do not know if they were shown any statement from eyewitness Joshua Orta, who was clear in a thorough firsthand statement that Ruben’s car was moving slowly and did not hit anyone.”

Orta, 25, died Saturday in a single-car crash in San Antonio

If it’s the crash I’m thinking of, it wasn’t a suspicious crash according to the survivors. Dude lost control of the car.

Sole key witness lost control of the car for no apparent reason; that can have its steering, accelerator, brakes, and every single other canbus connected system overridden remotely 🤔

Mere days before the gestapo officer is acquitted 🤔

Ya nothing to see here folks!

There were three other people in the car, the other three people survived, and the witness wasn’t even the one driving. They left a bar at like 1AM, and were driving home. The driver lost control when exiting the highway. It’s most likely a case of drunk driving ending in a crash. There are enough conspiracy theories, please stop trying to turn this into another one.

Okay, go read how the CANBUS system and fly-by-wire controls work in modern vehicles and then report back to me about how I’m making shit up.

The technical capability is 1000% there in every single modern vehicle with a cellular modem built-in (been commonplace for awhile now).

CIA documents leaked all the way back in 2017 showing they have the capability to do this. The proliferation of computer controls in modern vehicles has exploded since then with driver assistance features. Should really not be a surprise, given modern vehicles are a security nightmare as widely reported (I think Mozilla did a comparison of brands).
