Israel’s military sounded air raid sirens across the country ‘to prepare the public for the possibility of missiles being launched toward Israel’ in retaliation

Israel says it has launched a “preventative” strike on Iran and is preparing for retaliation.

On Friday, Donald Trump said he had not made a final decision on whether to launch US strikes on Iran – but added he was “not happy” with the situation, and that military force, including regime change, remained an option.

This is the first country the US has attacked in my lifetime that can reasonably resist.

    I am anxious.

If I had to guess, it’s because up until now you’ve held the assumption that the people in power know what they’re doing for the most part, and nobody was a dying felon in his last years on earth terrified of going to prison for raping children.

Now you are under no such illusions, and the people in charge ARE dying felons that rape children and have no morals, and the government doesn’t even want to try and check or balance itself.

      Can they though?

Pretty hard to resist a massive bombing campaign, no matter how many soldiers you have.

Iran isn’t going to do shit. They couldn’t stop the US the last time they attacked, they won’t now.

They will not attack the US. They will obliterate the Israel. That is all. It’s not the USA who want to fight Iran. It’s the Zionists in the government who try to protect Israel.

No, it’s not. Iran will strike Israel very actively. Simply because it is harder to strike the US, so all the anger will be pointed towards easier enemy. While I also hate genocide wars, this one even has a potential of using nuclear weapons.

This is actually one of the few shitty things the Trump voters didn’t vote for. Trump can campaigned as anti-war. Just recently Americans polled at 70% opposition to military action. Even Republicans have a majority against it (53-35).

          Trump campaigned as anti-war.

Which, to anyone noticing a pattern, is how you knew without doubt he’d start a war.

Yup. I remember George W. Bush saying that he was against “nation building wars” and then he started two of the fucking things, including the longest war in the history of the country.

They’re cowards and/or bought by Israel. The Democratic leadership conveniently delayed a vote against military action until next week. Speculation is that either they get so much AIPAC money they’ll do whatever Israel wants or they think this will be such a big shit show for Trump they want to just let it happen for political benefit.

Also, realistically, Republicans are weak-willed morons. There will be a few days of uncomfortable confusion, but they’ll be cheerleading this by next week.

After all, they never met a middle-eastern war they didn’t like.

              • Killing lots of brown people.

              • Unlimited money for their defense contractor buddies.

              • Get to cosplay as patriotic for supporting the war effort and supporting the troops. (Words only for the troops, of course. Still cutting veteran’s healthcare budget.)

              What’s not to like?

voters didn’t vote for. Trump campaigned as anti-war.

Trump also, to anyone with a functioning brain, campaigned as a rat fucking liar who’d go back on any and all promises when it was expedient for him, so they therefore voted for whatever Trump feels serves his own interests and by extension any such wars.
