Try switching it up to another greeting. I often don’t want to repeat the same generic greeting back.

I don’t like when people ask me that. Just say hi. If you genuinely want to know how I’m feeling, ask that later instead of using it as a greeting when you’re not actually expecting an honest, detailed answer.

I hate this little social game where people ask questions they don’t really want answers to, and I end up lying by saying “I’m good, you?”

I say “how’s it going” or “what’s up” as a more generic greeting. Or I’ll just say “hey”

So I think there was a mix up in how I phrased things. The intention wasn’t the words, but more the fact that I’m always the one having to reach out to friends and keep up with them and they never reach out to me.
