Although playing online works, I haven’t tried a direct connection/invite with another person, due to me lacking PC master race friends.

In the general server list, I think the SA region stands for South America? In any case, my ping was really high, so actually playing online is not feasible for me.

I’m using IGG games’ torrent version, it was a simple extract and run. The fake steam account name defaults to NooB, so I recommend you change it in the following folder: %appdata%\Roaming\Goldberg SteamEmu Saves\settings - The account_name.txt is just the shown name, while the user_steam_id.txt is the acc number. I’ve changed both. Keep in mind that changing the id might make your saves disappear, so you’ll have to create a new world, then copy over the save files - %appdata%\Local\Pal\Saved

If you’re a fan of survival crafting, this game is a must play. The fact that you can play solo and change the world settings (exp rate, stamina depletion, hunger, etc) anytime before entering makes it perfect for all skill levels. I just think the default capture rate is too low, but I guess it makes more sense when you’re online in a guild?

No idea how many hours I’ve spent playing, but I’m definitely buying this game in a few months.

I bought it. It’s good enough to deserve the money. Especially one of this quality. Already got more than 80 hours in it, and I’m not even through 1/4 of the map. It’s already earned it’s price.

I considered buying it, I tried it out on Gamepass first, and alas it crashed 5 times with illegal memory access errors before I could even get past character creation haha.

I’m looking forward to trying out the game, I just can’t afford to buy the full thing at the moment, and will have to wait until they’ve patched out the more serious bugs.

Which is fine of course! I’ll just wait 6 months or so, and come back to it then _ If I’d paid money for it I’d have been upset, but as it stands I’m good.

There’s been a lot of weird issues with the game pass version that the steam version doesn’t have for whatever reason

Could be wrong but I believe Xbox requires more certifications to pass for updates that’s why the console version is behind steam as well.

I’m on steam and the game hasn’t crashed once in the near week of owning it. Haven’t had any data loss bugs or anything either. Whereas all my pals on gamepass/xbox/microsoft store version have…

So IF you pirate it, try to get a steam version.

Yeah, the game can crash a lot, I’m on v0.1.2.0. One even fucked up my save, with the crash happening during the loading screen. Luckily, I’ve managed to restore an earlier save, lost about 10 minutes of progress, so no biggie.

Other crashes I’ve had happened while entering cave dungeons, after sending a pal to battle, activating a special ability, attacking human enemies…

Man I loved the Enshrouded demo, and was waiting for it to come out… then this Palworld comes out of nowhere and sucks up all my freetime. And THEN I forgot that Enshrouded was coming out this week, so like… I guess I won’t be playing that just yet 😅 did it turn out to be as good as the demo made it seem?

Enshrouded’s voxel terrain and build system is really amazing, tbh. I’m not so sure their storyline or gameplay loop is great just yet. I’ve got a couple of friends that play it, but I couldn’t afford it just yet. I’ll probably pick it up in a couple of days if I can manage to muster up the cash. So far Palworld has taken me off of ARK: Survival Ascended - which I got gifted to me. So I’ve been pretty happy not dealing with Wildcard’s bullshit. Other than that, my other entertainment is pirated switch games.

I think overall Enshrouded might end up holding more of my attention in the long run. Palworld’s max cap is like level 50 and it seems pretty linear of a grind. I expect in 2 weeks or so I’ll be done with it.

That sounds like my current trajectory as well. I’m almost level 30, with a friend who runs the server I’m playing on being late 30’s, and is starting to catch things well into the 40’s. I can almost see the endgame coming.

A friendly reminder that not everyone makes an equivalent living, especially not in USD, and that feeling of “eh, give them $30, guys” could come across as “eh, give them more than you make in a week” 😅

If you make less than $30 in a week, you likely aren’t on lemmy. I won’t go into how much I make, but I probably make less than 99% of people on here. Difference being how I managed my money when I did have it so I set myself up to not have to pay rent, power, etc. Most things I do are pre-paid a year in advance to save money (for example, did you know you can get smartphone service for like $150 for the whole year?)
