I hadn’t seen a single ad until a few months ago. I had snagged a copy of Windows 10 Pro (and Windows 7 Pro before that) from my workplace so I imagine it was debloated to an extent.

I’m doing my part! Switched to Linux earlier this year because Microsoft started showing ads in the start menu. I tried Nobara but ran into some glitches that I didn’t want to troubleshoot so I switched to Bazzite. So far so good.
I was crossing my fingers for Hunter Schafer, but the casting they chose looks pretty decent. They’re a bit younger than I expected but I guess it’s lore accurate.
I picked up FFIX and installed the Moguri mod. I thought people were overhyping it, but it really is like playing the game for the first time again. 10/10 would recommend.
That’s a yikes from me dawg.
Life, uh, finds a way.
That form factor looks quite awkward for one-handed use. OG Blackberries were amazing because they were the perfect size to do things quickly one-handed, but you could switch to 2-handed typing for longer messages. I think it will be tricky to capture that kind of flexibility in a modern phone because the screens are so large.
Use SteamDB to check price histories. Steam Sales often present the lowest historical price on any game.
I know you meant that this could escalate to a long war that your child may eventually be drafted into, but my initial mental image was a battalion of toddlers each carrying a Fisher Price branded “Baby’s First Assault Rifle”.
When I was living in a car I’d wardrive nightly to find Wifi. This was before Wifi was commonly available in public spaces, and household routers often used a default password or no password at all. I’d use it to pirate games and movies to keep myself entertained.
Later I moved into a 4 plex apartment and convinced the neighbors to share one Internet connection. We ran ethernet through walls and across the roof and split the bill.
You really shouldn’t use your debit card for anything other than withdrawing money at an ATM. Credit cards are safer plus you get rewards.
I’m on vacation but it’s gonna storm every day. Luckily I just picked up a retro game I’ve been wanting to play, so that should keep me entertained.
I think it’s interesting that Microsoft is leaning into Windows on Xbox devices. It lends credibility to the rumor that the next Xbox console will run Steam natively.
What’s a computer?
I finally got a Plex client up and running on a raspberry pi for my CRT TV. So now I can watch all of my old movies and shows without swapping out a DVD when I’m comfy.
Your area doesn’t have farmers markets in warmer months? It’s usually an outdoor area where farmers set up booths and you can get everything in one spot. I buy all of my seasonal veggies this way, and I’m gonna keep an eye out for honey next time I go.
No. 34 million current gamepass subscribers. 40% of Xbox gamers are from US, so roughly 13.6 million subs in the US. There’s 131 million US households, thus 1 in 10.
40% of Xbox gamers are from the US. The US has 132 million households. That means that roughly 1 in 10 US households currently has a Gamepass sub. Hope that puts it into perspective.
PS Plus is closer to Xbox Live than Xbox Gamepass. Xbox Live had 40-50 million subs at the time in 2020.
Presently Xbox Live has 120 million users vs 33 million PS Plus Essentials subscribers. Gamepass has 34 million subs vs 14 million higher-tier PS Plus subs. Even if we drop Nintendo into the mix, Gamepass has an equal number of subs to Nintendo Online members. Seems like they’re doing just fine.
Right on! I’ve had a similar gaming experience, except with VR. Can’t seem to get my headset working with Bazzite. I’ve heard that there’s some workarounds but I need to sit down and poke at it.
