    SO SERIOUS.

This? This is the red line? Not January sixth? Or collusion with Russia? Or tax evasion? Or selling bibles he’s autographed? Or any of the federal laws he’s broken? 🙄

Just another example that in Trump world only one thing counts: Trump. There are no principles . America does not come first. It’s really just him. Incredible how people can vote for someone like that.

I think that most Americans, regardless of political affiliation and regardless of how they feel about the various wars we’ve been in over the centuries, find the idea of using our honored dead as political props profoundly offensive. I personally hope that this is the red line finally and the bastard can start facing some real consequences.

      Every little bit helps

Also it helps that he’s going progressively off the rails as time goes on, so his reaction to getting caught for this stuff is getting less and less hinged month by month

The more population groups he (and by association the GOP) pisses off, the better. May the GOP pay dearly for choosing Trump as their Führer.

Humans have honored the dead since before homo sapiens. Laws can be complicated, contradictory, and confusing; respecting the dead is clear and primal.

Yeah, this probably won’t change a lot of minds, but some folks will see there is something wrong about a man who would dishonor the dead to celebrate himself.

I appreciate your statement and generally agree. However, there is nothing complicated or contradictory about the harm caused in rape or the need to protect children from predators.

January 6th is not seen as an insurrection but as citizens banding together to protect democracy. Collusion with Russia was always seen as a false attempt to make him look bad, especially with things like the dossier being faked. Tax evasion is considered smart if you can do it legally, and the New York prosecution for what the industry considers standard practice reinforced the perspective that it was weaponizing the justice system. Autographed bibles are no more sacrilegious than any of the megachurch/televangelist who buys a private jet because God wants him to to.

Each one of those hurtles may take someone out of his camp, but for some that will only be if there is a viable alternative. Keep in mind that the alternative on the democratic side is trying to end their 2nd amendment rights, open the borders to secure a permanent underclass voting block, and lose the national protection of God by persecuting Christians. It doesn’t matter to what degree any of that is true, that is the hurtle they have to clear.

Since armed service is venerated more on the right than the left, and has higher percentages of veterans and their children, this might indeed be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for some or many. He is grifting in so many areas, that if he is also shown to be a grifter on respecting the armed services in addition to being a false Christian and 1 percenter elite then parts of his base might see him as no better than the Democrats.

It very well could be the line among his supporters who are members of the armed forces, veterans, and their families.

They might have overlooked all the scandals and outrageous things through his campaigns, presidency, and sedition, but this is where many of them have buried their spouses, grandparents, family, and friends.

Currently seeing it happen, buddies who had overlooked issues in the past have started to look at him negatively. Before it was “he has always treated us right.” Now they might write in Rand Paul.

‘He had always treated us right’ lmfao. And they didn’t get a medical discharge for blindness? Because they are blind.

          • Dodged Vietnam by making up a case of ‘bone spurs’ that magically disappeared afterward
          • ‘I like people who weren’t captured’ to POW and war hero John McCain, repeatedly
          • 2018, Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris. ‘In a conversation with senior staff members on the morning of the scheduled visit, Trump said, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.” In a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump referred to the more than 1,800 marines who lost their lives at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for getting killed.’
          • Called retired 4-star general John Allen a ‘failed general’, a cursory glance at his Wikipedia page or defense.gov page should illustrate why that’s absurd.
          • skipped out on visits to nearly every military cemetery he’s ever been invited to, usually because he’s afraid of the rain. He’s more worried about getting his hairpiece wet than he is worried about paying respect to men and women who died for America to lead to him standing where he is. After seeing his visit to Arlington that’s probably a good thing that he’s afraid of the rain and didn’t go to the others.

And those are just the really big and obvious ones that I remember and can easily look up quotes about. I guarantee you that’s not even a third of the list of the times he’s actively disrespected the military.

Trump doesn’t give half a fuck about you guys, you are not people in his eyes, you’re just guns on legs. He thinks it is your destiny to go die making him a profit, for the simple reason that you are a lower class than he is. If you listen to the statements that come out of his very own mouth it is obvious how he feels this way.

There’s a chunk of the population for whom this is a very big deal, and it’s easy to communicate what happened.

And it’s bound to come up at the debate (if the debate happens). Some of his low-info voters will hear about it for the first time that night, and it being a simple thing is important in that scenario.

I agree with you but it should never be left unmentioned that anyone who’s not mentally ill enough to let themselves be brainwashed into his cult, I.e. the people who still have some thinking ability left, but still isn’t completely put off by him since Birtherism, is a bad guy and will not be easily welcomed back into society.

In a way the totally crazy Trump fans can be let off easier because they don’t know what they’re doing.
