R2-D2. The true hero of the rebellion. Nothing would have succeeded without him. Think about it.

Also, a friend posited the theory that he speaks perfectly understandable ‘galactic’, but it’s all swearing, so it had to be bleeped out.

    Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker

Probably too cliché, but he’s just the best villain, the best conflicted Jedi and he’s got the best redemption arch.

Luke and Leia, in the OG series, are the only ones who actually seem to give a damn.

I do appreciate a good Kylo Ren meme tho…

While she herself wants to be R2, please teach me your wise ways oh master droid!?

But more seriously, she’s passionate. Luke too. She’s also knowledgeable. Him not so much 🤪. A bit naive though, thinking that one can resolve their differences with the Emperor diplomatically.

In the books she went on to become the Chancellor of the New Republic in her own right, after Mon Mothma, neglecting her Jedi heritage for the most part, while he went on to unleash terror upon the galaxy by halfheartedly training people with stubborn wills to learn how to use their own force powers, sometimes for evil. I gather they both regretted their respective paths and I have no idea what I’m supposed to learn from all that - maybe in George Lucas’ philosophy, everything is ultimately futile, in the end, even choices with galaxy-altering consequences, still all ultimately reflects merely the Yin and the Yang of existence, and a hero who lives long enough ultimately becomes a villain (in the eyes of their children at the very least, who don’t understand those choices:-P)? Anyway they seemed to have fun chasing their passions:-).

Well, I can’t say I’ve ever thought about it before. Which is kinda weird considering how huge the movies were when I was a kid and how much I loved them. I always kinda thought of them as a set; I wouldn’t have thought about picking one, it’s the synergy that made it work.

I guess I gotta go with either Obi Wan or Han though, with Leia being a close third.

Obi Wan because he was the introduction to what Jedi are supposed to be, and anyone else that came after in the movies had to live up to that because Alec Guinness’ performance was so tight. He’s still what I think of when the word Jedi pops up. “These are not the droids you’re looking for”, with a bare minimum of movement and the confidence.

Han shot first. And that’s why he’s a candidate for favorite. He’s a guy that can read what’s going on and not hesitate to trust himself. He doesn’t pretend to be perfect, but he’s got swagger and style. Then he lives up to his own hype.

Leia is not because of the picks obvious reason young men loved seeing her on a leash. Ngl, that scene was… formative. But the reason the scene happened in the first place, story wise, that’s why she’s awesome. She chain chokes a giant alien at least three times her mass while barely clothed, and she got there on purpose. She’s no delicate flower of a princess, she’s a warrior princess, a She-ra or Xena.

I cosplay as Aayla Secura , so I’m a bit biased, but I love Kit Fisto too. He’s just this wise, badass (but peaceful) Jamaican, squid-dude; voices by Phil LaMarr; and has the cheekiest smile when he knocks down the C3P0 Frankenstein Droid. He watches over and provides guidance for Ahsoka and it doesn’t hurt that he’s ripped… and I think the species works better in The Clone Wars… he just seems happy to be a jedi and helping people.
